Discussion: Report: Lack Of Discipline By Police Led To Crossfire After Boston Marathon Bombing

Discussion for article #235014

Tough choice for the police. Adrenalin is running high - lives are on the line.

On one hand, I’m inclined to cut them some slack. Emotions were running high and this was so far outside the realm of what anyone expects to be dealing with in a non-military/combat setting.

On the other, they almost killed one of their fellow officers and were extremely lucky he was the only one hit by “friendly fire.”

Since even highly trained professionals are prone to error under stressful circumstances, clearly we need to put a loaded weapon in the hands of every gundamentalist ammosexual yayhoo in Kansas and elsewhere when they’re out at the supermarket, in church, in college, at outdoor events…everywhere.
