Discussion: Report: Kuwait Relocates Event To Trump’s DC Hotel After Trump Org Pitch

I have my doubts that the Emoluments Clause has attached quite yet, but if present is prelude…

Anyone could claim standing and sue. Given the circumstances, the four seasons seem to be quite likely to have a case under the emoluments clause and also to challenge the GSA lease.

More damaging for Trump, the federal statute of limitations is five years. And that means that there is a very high probability of charges after he leaves office.

I think it will attach the moment he takes the oath of office. I doubt Kuwait paid their bill in advance.

Except impeachment is a political remedy and THIS Congress likes what it sees so far. I honestly think Trump “could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody” and Congress would not impeach him for it. We’re stuck with him.

Found this link at Hillary 2016 page on FB. As I suggested in a thread earlier today, This Is Not Good is going to be the slogan attached to this regime, very different than Obama’s Hope and Change.

54 percent of adults saying that they are either uncertain (25 percent) or pessimistic and worried (29 percent) about how Trump will perform during his presidency, compared with 45 percent with either an optimistic and confident view (22 percent) or a satisfied and hopeful view (23 percent).

That’s a significantly worse outlook than Americans expressed after the elections of both Barack Obama and George W. Bush. A combined 66 percent were either optimistic or hopeful about Obama in January 2009, according to the same poll, while 59 percent were optimistic or hopeful about George W. Bush in January 2001.

Poll: Majority of Americans Pessimistic or Uncertain About Trump Presidency

Who knows. His lawyers are likely smart enough to tell them “get your bribes in now while we can still take 'em!!! Time’s a wastin!!!”

Maybe I am bring too generous to Republicans but even they must find some of this outright crony capitalism, nepotism and corruption distasteful?

I mean they won’t admit it now but a couple of years in they may come to recognize the horror of what Trump is doing?

Four Seasons should sue if Congress will not impeach. There is absolutely a common law case here. You’d think that somebody in the Trump Organization would at least have had the sense not to actively pursue foreign governments. He must really want to get kicked out.

Selling the White House like no other President of the USA ever.

A lawsuit to be filed by Four Seasons in 5. . .4. . .3. . .2. . .

Why not just give the hotel to one of the kids? Would that satisfy the annoying people in the govt.? LOCK THEM ALL UP

The money laundering begins. And they probably charged inflated rates.

The pettiness and bullying is what the country voted for; it was evident from day one of the lunatic’s campaign.

Exactly. The first and most critical question on these corruption cases is finding a clearly and legitimately injured party. Congratulations, Trump Org; you have crossed the first and most hefty hurdle to litigation and eventual articles of impeachment.

POS President-elect, it’s minor, but important.

So how long before “paying tribute” becomes mandatory SOP for foreign dignitaries who request an audience with King Donald?
