Discussion: Report: Kushner Angry With WH Defense Of Trump Jr. Meeting With Russia Lawyer

Universal TrumpGOP answer to other people’s problems: “You can’t afford X? Sucks to be you. You should have worked harder, been luckier, and/or born rich like me.”

Where X is health care, legal advice, a roof over your head, a way to get to work, your kids’ education, etc., etc.

Kushner, if you have your own PR person, that’s the individual you need to go scream at, jackass.

Sucks to be revealed for what you are, eh?

Since Trump, his family, Spicer, Sanders, et all have been stupidly making claims, revealing so-called facts, spinning their version of events, lying, and consistently putting themselves in further legal jeopardy, I say let them sing like canaries. Dig that hole, dig that hole, keep digging.

I wonder if it’s beginning to dawn on him that he’s going to jail.

If we just lied LOUDER the whole thing would be over by now.

Good luck with that, kiddo.

Sorry Jared.

You’re not blood, just a rental (consider Trump’s ‘marriage’ habits and history).

It was positively moronic of you to think you could help yourself by knifing Junior (BTW, such a sad identifier for a 39 year old man). When comes to the crunch - save Junior or Jared - the question isn’t if you getting thrown off the train, or even “are they going to slow it down before throwing you?”, it is “are they going to speed up first to make you roll farther”?

What a petty, petulant, pouting posturer.

This is why Trump said he knew about the 6/9 meeting yesterday. Because he wants to more aggressively defend Junior, but he personally cannot while hiding behind the “What meeting? Never heard anything about it” defense. So he tore it down. No doubt pushing his lawyer even deeper into the bottle in the process.

Which is why there is also more than a grain of truth in the story this week that Senior’s lawyers are deeply concerned about Kushner’s influence on their client and want a firewall put up between them. Kushner can and will use every mechanism at his disposal to protect himself, including putting Daddy in Law in legal jeopardy. (And yes, Ivanka has some very hard decisions coming down the track at her in the future).

The irony here is that Kushner wants a more vigorous defense of Junior’s meeting mounted, after he and his legal team were the ones who pulled the trigger on that story in the first place! Because he wants Junior to be THE story right now, and nobody else…in particular him. He thought that throwing Junior to the wolves would sate them, but Junior is just a meager appetizer. The wolves smell blood and are even hungrier now.

This entire scenario is what you get when you put “businessmen” in charge of something else. This government is now a large Rump family business. They do what they think best for them and all businessmen end up dumping on the low end employees in the “food chain”. In this country right now that is the middle class and below citizenry. They are going to take things away from you that they told you they would not because they can do it now with nobody to stop them.

I don’t know what will be left of the good old USA when the Rumps are through with it but whatever it is the Rump voters bought it and nothing can be blamed on Hillary or Obama. It is all Republicans with the freedom to take away everything Dems and unions set up over 80 years ago. Dems can do absolutely nothing … nothing … the voters guaranteed that so the cable news folks should really stop asking Dems what they are gonna’ do to stop some of this stuff.

Not one of them is going to jail no matter what they have done because … you know … the Prez. The “press” finally woke up and only two years too late and we still have cable news heads trying to normalize this crap. Brings to mind the old saying … “one will lie and the others will swear to it” and they will all get away with looting this country.

Memo to Krushner -
Your problem isn’t public relations.
Your problem is lost credibility. Once you lose your credibility, no one believes anything you say.
The public has become aware of the broad depth and width of the Trump Campaign’s involvement with our enemy adversary, Russia and the revelation that everyone in the Trump Administration has been lying incessantly about it.
The public wants to know why…

Did you ever in your life believe we would be in such a situation? These thieves have stolen OUR government.

No. There is a lot of truth to Josh’s theory of the “invulnerable” mind set that these people coming from the NY real estate business have (The Masters of the Universe is the phrase Tom Wolfe coined in Bonfire of the Vanities, though he was mostly talking about Wall Street types. Its the same mentality however). They don’t deal in a world of consequences for their failures, and when they do have to confront them, they always have someone else they can blame it on.

And while some may argue that Kushner should know better after watching his own father fall and go to jail, keep in mind another aspect of these personalities. They almost always suffer from very big Daddy issues. Hell, it was a major driving force for W, McCain and Romney…that they all will show that THEY are better than Daddy. Kushner no doubt feels the same way…“Daddy went down because he was a chump, I am way better, just watch!”. Indeed, this aspect almost seems to compel them to do very stupid things just in order to prove they are better (invading Iraq, rejecting the decades long precedent Romney’s father set for releasing tax returns). So its highly probable that some part of Kushner’s psyche is propelling him to break laws…just so he can prove he can get away with it, unlike Daddy.

Remember the scene in Primary Colors, where Travolta is giving the speech and the main character is still undecided about joining the campaign? A guy leans over just as he is getting drawn into the speech and asks him roughly…“Can you believe this stuff??” and he tells him to “Shut up, I am starting to believe it right now”

I kind of feel like I am in a through the looking glass, corrupted version of that scene, starting just a few days after the election. So yes, at that point, I totally started believing these situations would come about. :frowning:

What should now be absolutely clear to everybody not residing in the Trumpiverse is that all of the assumptions of Kushner being that “calming, positive” influence on Trump, the “good guy” in the White House that would protect us from Trump’s vile tendencies, was based on nothing but the cultural assumption that nice looking rich men are “nice boys”, even when the available evidence says otherwise.

Kushner is not responsible for the crimes of his father, but it does appear that he learned the ways of rich crime families from him. It was widely known that Kushner bought the New York Observer to use as a weapon against those he disliked - a patent mean rich boy move which should have spiked the “nice boy” assumption out of the gate.

The Kushners and the Trumps were made for each other - two New York rich crime families steeped in privilege and devoid of morality.

The whole tale of Kushner this past year all been of a piece - corrupt and conscience-less from beginning to end (or at least, when the end come, hopefully soon).

Maybe Ivanka is going to have to chose between daddy and Kushner. Whose side is she going to choose?
