WTF. We are really having an epidemic of crazies.

And not a word from the MSM because pushing gloom and doom about the Democratic Convention is more important

Barely a passing mention of events in Germany, either.

I am embarrassed to admit that one of my first thoughts upon reading this terrible news was “Great, now the gun nuts are going to point to this knife attack every time there’s an attempt to stop mass murders with gun control legislation.”

This is both awful and amazing. Killing 19 people with a knife is, by most accounts, really hard to do. So, this guy must have been both crazy and highly skilled. That. . .is actually more frightening.

Republicans: “Now Libs will say we should ban knives!”

Weren’t the victims ill/handicapped? That would have made so much devastation from a knife attack possible.

Doom, gloom and nonsense.

High casualty rate appears to be from the fact that the attacker targeted the disabled.

Asahi Shimbun reported that the suspect was quoted by police as saying “I want to get rid of the disabled from this world.”

They will. And we’ll just point out that a hypothetical gun attack by the same man in the same place and we’d be talking about 50 dead and 80 injured, instead of 19 dead and 20 injured. And then we’d remind them that nobody is making the claim that mass murders will be stopped with gun control, just mitigated.

Hey, Daesh, how do you like the news of late? There’s no difference between your deluded murdering minions and any violent asshole nut job who can hold a weapon.

This was in a facility for the handicapped. Most are bed-ridden and unable to defend themselves from a teddy-bear, more or less from a knife-wielding man bent on murder.
It has been reported that he got in using his security card and went from from room to room killing people in their beds and then he left. He later turned himself in at a local police station.

You know, the only thing that can stop a bad ninja with a knife is a good ninja with a knife.

I had the exact same thought.

This is sad and tragic. I am sure that NRA will put out a statement saying, “If those disabled individuals had been armed with an AR-15, this tragedy would not have happened.”

If it’s any consolation, that was the first thing I thought too.

So, a Republican?

As pushback to the inevitable republican cry that this proves that knives are as dangerous as guns, keep this 2014 FBI Crime statistic handy for types of weapons used in homicides:

67.9% Firearms
13.1% Knives or cutting instruments
13.5% Unknown or other dangerous weapons
5.5% Personal weapons (hands, fists, feet, etc.)

Also note that this knife attack was against hospitalized disabled people.

The story is a big story on every msm news site. In fact, the photo for the article is a screen shot of CNN (can’t get more msm than that) as “Breaking News”. And yes, the opening of the Dem convention is big news too, why wouldn’t it be? And yes, radical Bernie nuts (not to be confused with most Bernie supporters, who are sane) acting like sophomoric clowns is news too, why wouldn’t it be? Wasn’t it also headline news when Ted Cruz refused to endorse Trump? As it also should have been.

These big stories are all being carried on msm. No one is ignoring them, and I am not sure where you got that notion from? The msm’s agenda is REVENUE, and this knife attack will definitely generate a lot of clicks, so it will keep becoming a bigger story. Remember that this is a local situation in Japan, so CNN and the rest of the msm still have to get mobilized with crews, etc. Visual also makes a story more marketable. But if you think Producers at msm news outlets are all saying “we need to ignore this knife killing spree so we can make the Dems look bad”, you are mistaken. Big time.
