I am so looking forward to Kamala Harris’ questioning of Kavanaugh. Not only is she more intelligent and ethical than Kavanaugh, she was an excellent D.A. for San Francisco. She will hone in on inconsistencies and obfuscations in his testimony.

Avenatti had sent the committee a “warning shot” on Sunday evening with a list of questions that he said should be asked of the candidate without revealing who the accuser was that had a lot to do with gang rape.

WaPo still doesn’t have “gang rape” in a headline.
But does have an article, “Kavanaugh says he is victim of ‘character assassination’”.

That’s what I was thinking yesterday. Harris is a skilled prosecutor who has demonstrated many times her abilities to question witnesses on both sides of an issue. She’s also unflappable.
But, we don’t want to send a signal that the men and the other women on the Dems side of the committee can’t handle it with competence and sensitivity (they can). It also might be considered an unfair political advantage for Harris – both she and Booker are considered to have further ambitions politically, and perhaps more of them do.
If the hearing happens as scheduled, I hope the Democrats have come up with their best plan for it. If they could agree to let one person step up to do all the asking, with the understanding that they all will get credit for contributing some of the questions, maybe that would work. I don’t know. All I can say is that they can’t possibly screw it up as much as the merry band of old white men on Grassley’s side.
