So maybe now the media will start asking the hard questions that need to asked of the Drumpfster Fire?
Maybe? Starting with Telemundo in Mexico City?
Dear Journalists
Trump only abuses you because he loves you so much. He knows you will never leave him.
And yet they’ll be back to lapping up his every word and reguritating it verbatim by this evening.
These are not journalists, they’re toy poodles eager to please.
But will the press start treating him like a real candidate instead of a media creation?
I hope some of them realize that if he gets elected he will not hesitate to put them in jail or worse if they cross him.
MSM, stop hiding behind this Journalist crap and start reporting the news.
HRC and President Obama were just advised of the latest Drumpf media switcheroo…
Press to Drumpf: “We wish we could quit you.”
Does Trump think there are no news cameras already IN Mexico?
ellyanne Conway further roiled frustrated members of the press by saying Trump would take questions from the Mexican and American press during the visit after all.
Maybe Trump expects them to phone it in from a white neighborhood tucked away in some hamlet in the US…like he’s been doing.
The great thing with the Mexican press covering this is that they are masters at using the most unflattering images possible.
Drumpf will be stunned when he realizes there’s electricity and cars, not candles and burros.
His campaign is jumping the shark on controlling the message in case the meeting doesn’t result in a win win for cheeto jesus…
What could possibly go wrong…
Wait, all those equivalencies to maintain access were betrayed? Shame!
But seriously, do large media entities maintain foreign offices anymore? I would think some American companies already have reporters in Mexico to cover the goings-on, not to mention the Mexican media.
If they put half as much effort into doing their goddamned jobs as they devote to whining about not getting as much access as they believe they deserve–and letting their sense of grievance about it affect their narrative–the nation would be a hell of a lot better off. Don’t know if their bottom line would . . .
This kind of says it all:
Although some reporters were weighing the possibility of chartering their own flight to Mexico, they ultimately decided against it, in part because they say the campaign hadn’t indicated there would be any press availability[.]
Seriously? Have we really reached the point where they are so transfixed by the belief that their entire job consists of asking questions of the candidates–and, let us be clear, they are almost entirely incredibly stupid, vapid, inane, breathtakingly uninformed questions intended to elicit an emotional reaction or a gotcha soundbite rather than inform–that they’re not willing to do what it takes to cover this? They may not get to ask questions, so they’ll blow off what is almost certainly going to be an epic shitshow fail parade, a thing highly likely to elicit mass demonstrations with a good chance of including effigy burning and a one in a hundred chance of being something that works to Trump’s benefit, because they might not get to ask their butt-stupid questions?
JFC, even from a ratings/circulation driven Trump Freakshow standpoint alone, the visuals and the atmospherics are highly likely to be ginormous.
Never a meteor when and where you need one.
For $100 every five miles Mexican highway police will provide you expedited transit to Mexico City.
Trump and Bannon are setting the stage for ‘something to happen’ out of the sight of the US press where they are the sole source of information…
So now they will turn on him and starting treating him the way they did Gore.
Oh, wait.
Well, I’m sure the Mexican press will be more than willing to give us an honest view of Mexico’s reception. And if, indeed Nieto is planning to tell Trump off, there should be some good coverage of that, as well.
Maybe this is where the two of them fake their own deaths and head off to a private island in SE Asia to bask in their love?
