“Carney will serve as a senior vice president overseeing both Amazon’s public relations and public policy departments…”
No doubt with the title “Senior VP of Excuse-Making For Our Labor Practices.”
I’m disappointed. When I read the headline, I thought Jay had taken up a promising and exiting new career as a pharmacognocist and was off to the Brazilian rainforest. Instead, I find he’s leaving one crap corporation that sells shit you really don’t need for another corporation that sells even more shit you really don’t need.
It’s true Amazon is nearly indefensible, but I have discovered their Amazon.Smile program where one can designate a charity to receive a small donation from Amazon each time a purchase is made. So when I do buy the shit I don’t really need (except for books), I’ve chosen a small non-profit group in a small city to be the beneficiary. I know they’re pleased to get these funds.
I buy from Amazon too, but only if I can’t get it from another source. It’s really card to find certain types of camera equipment here in Tucson.
As we enjoy a nice breeze from the corp/gov revolving door on this cold day, Jay should realize soap won’t wash away CNN’s stench.
Yes, but that is a rarity in these days for folks to go on to a profession that probably doesn’t make a lot of money. Everyone has to make a living and I am sure Jay is no different. The job of WH Press Secretary has to take its toll.
A certain photo store in NYC with a name consisting of two initials connected by an ampersand is world class by any standard for photo equipment. Fast service and good prices – as good as any around. None of that shady bait-and-switch business famous among the NYC discount shops. Professional all the way. I’ve been to their store on a visit to Manhattan, and it’s a sight to behold. Boisterous & Humongous.
I have no personal interest in them other than as a satisfied customer for decades. I haven’t even bought any equipment in the last five years or more. I just wanted to make a suggestion to a fellow traveler, and hope the other readers will pardon the transgression.
That would be pretty awesome, as i really enjoyed reading “True Hallucinations” many years ago. If you haven’t read it, i recommend finding an internet book retailer to find a reasonably-priced copy. There’s a website i’m thinking of, but the name escapes me right now.
