Discussion: Report: Issa Opposed Creation Of New Benghazi Committee

Discussion for article #222726

Probably because they knew they wouldn’t be asked to be on the committee.

Their worry about any new information being turned up is misplaced unless that includes more made up BS.

Ah. Just when I thought that maybe Issa and the other members may have come to their senses and seen this would be seen as a laughable political circus, I read this:

Thanks for bringing me back to reality, GOP. /thumbs up

ā€œThe Daily Beast reported that one of the concerns among House leadership is that if the select committee uncovers any new material, it would be unflattering for the other committees that have been investigating the attacks for months.ā€

Don’t worry Darrell, nothing can make you look any worse than you already do.

lol…now they are worried they will look bad if the new committee does the job they have been trying to do for 2 years?

ā€œā€¦if the select committee uncovers any new material, it would be unflattering for the other committees that have been investigating the attacks for months.ā€

And nothing slides off the tongue more easily than the following:

Daryl Issa and unflattering…

The guy is apparently impervious to any suggestions that he has made a travesty of the Congressional investigative process.

And how much worse could a special committee do? We’ll soon find out.

And just when I got my hopes up that maybe some sanity was seeping in I read

The Daily Beast reported that one of the concerns among House leadership is that if the select committee uncovers any new material, it would be unflattering for the other committees that have been investigating the attacks for months.
Really? It wasn’t because they realized there isn’t anything more than misinterpreted emails.

Good grief even Chuck Todd, one of the Republicans’ better water carriers is saying there is no there there.

Chuck Todd: It’s Time For Republicans To Get Over Benghazi
ā€œI’ll hear from Republicans that say, ā€˜But there are unanswered questions!’ Well, no, all the questions have been answered,ā€ he said. ā€œThere’s just some people that don’t like the answers, that wish the answers were somehow more conspiratorial, I guess.ā€

Yes, and they’re not in the limelight.

They could make news by doing something beneficial for their constituents.

Silly me.

I knew before I clicked on the link to this story that it would turn out that Darrell’s bitter that he wasn’t made Grand Inquisitor or even considered for a spot on the committee. 19 months and now the GOP’s afraid that it might look bad if this ā€œspecialā€ committee comes up with something that all the others missed?

Mass suicide would be nice.

Take it up with Gowdy Doody.

The Republicans are worried their bullshit stories will contradict each other, more likely.

Or they are concerned that their fraudulent narrative will be spoiled by too many turds in the crock.

Issa is just protecting his turf. Everyone knows crazed witch hunts are Issa’s job. He has a brand to protect after all.

God, I thought he had a moment of clarity and realized that it was a pointless waste of time… turns out he just didn’t want anyone cutting in on his airtime?

Sickening.

Of course they all opposed the new kangaroo court. It means they sucked at their own running of their kangaroo court because Obama is still our President.
