Is it possible for anyone to explain, and give reasons, why America supports Israel?

Of course, if Iran had done something like this for self-defense, not only would we sanction them to within an inch of their lives, we might invade them.

I don’t know that you are all reading this correctly. Let’s assume that Israel has actual nuclear weapons, so they don’t need these for their destructive force (and in fact, it’s fair to assume that they weren’t particularly big bombs). Nor do they need to test dirty bombs to see how effective they would be in a false flag operation. Let’s say Israel did want to plant a dirty bomb somewhere, set it off, and then try to blame Arab terrorists. It doesn’t actually have to effective, it just has to be dirty. So there’s no real reason to conduct multiple testings of dirty bombs for offensive purposes.

By contrast, it makes perfect sense that Israel would conduct dirty bomb tests to gauge what would happen in case Israel were attacked with one.
But of course, just like there are people who defend Israel no matter how indefensible an action might be, there are those who attack Israel no matter what it does. Neither side is particularly objective, intellectually honest, or helpful

Asked about the intelligence of detonating a dirty bomb in a densely populated Israeli city defense officials said: “That’s why we did it at night.”

Oh, we have reasons. They aren’t good reasons (at least not anymore), but there are reasons.

What do you expect from a highly paranoid, well-funded, technologically sophisticated, but secretive Neo-Theocracy that is totally controlled by Highly Conservative Orthodox Religious groups within it’s nominally democratic government that refuses to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and won’t let ANY U.N. Inspectors into it’s Nuclear Facilities?
I’m talking about ISRAEL here, not Iran…

Yo, Josh. Read these comments. Maybe it is time for another one of your comments to explain that this is nothing more than a country preparing itself for something not unlikely to happen with ISIS taking over a country with a number of nuclear research facilities creeping up to its border.

I just assumed every nuclear country has tested these sort of things.

No matter what Israel’s intentions are, having this come out puts another spotlight on them, and conspiracies will sprout like mushrooms.

Hell, what could be better than to kill your enemies and yet have someone else take the retaliatory blame? To borrow from an argument from Israel’s previous bombing of Gaza: What if Canada bombed the US? But what if they could blame it on Mexico?? Win-win, amirite?

Either no one else had the foresight to do so, or the investigative journalism in their countrys really sucks. USA, I’m referring to you.

Plenty of research of this from universities and govt. agencies in the US. The Israelis are presumably more secretive because it draws attention to their nuclear program. Our press was probably amplifying the most recent SQUIRREL! to cover the reports.

Guess who likely financed this adventure along with dozens of other misguided efforts in the region? Our friends on the right in DC will make sure this MIC gravy Train NEVER ends.

Which radioactive isotope was allegedly used? This story is sensational, but without more facts and solid sources, I’m skeptical of it.
