Discussion for article #231550
So the GOP doesnât want to leave the Federal money sitting on the table and is slowly caving on Medicaid expansion. However, they are busily trying to take the subsidies away from middle-income folks who actually pay for a part of their premiums. Go figure. This is why the GOP is fukked up and canât seem to change direction because it is a prisoner of its own ideology.
Our Gov-elect Gregg Abbott.
Scam artist extraordinaire.
Guessing all my ÂŽ-compadres here had no clue that voting against all-things-Obamaâ
meant that the weasel they elected will now legislate-- in this case-- 180° opposite of what he promised.
I do hope that Medicaid Expansion does become implemented here.
So many people need access to healthcare in this state.
A state so bereft of compassion for have-nots.

(Just a taste of the grift under Abbottâs control:

See, poors? Obamaâs plan didnât help you, a whit, but the GOP WILL help you!
pfft screw texas, use the money in states that opened up to healthcare, screw ALL them red states
It has taken awhile for the TeaPub . gov/handlers to figure out a way to divert
the FedBucks into the TeaPub-electsâ âfavorite charitiesâ⌠which âself-deportsâ to offshore bank accounts.
âŚor so Iâve heard.
This is yet another fine example of just how petty the GOP has become. Instead of simply accepting the expansion and moving on, they have to go through all these ridiculous gyrations in order to not appear as though theyâre actually accepting Obamacare. So much time, money, and effort is wasted on these jackasses trying to find new and inventive ways to look as though theyâre opposing the president, especially when theyâre not actually opposing him. Itâs petty and itâs incredibly childish.
The Re-probates will twerk the ACA, wait for the 2016 campaigns
Then declare what a wonderful job they have done.
Actually, the reason these guys are caving is because their own base suspects that those northern NI(CLANG!) are getting something they donât get and they have to pay for it besides.
I think you mean âtweakâ but the visual gives me a chuckle.
Lord help us if spell-check now has âtwerkâ in itâs tables as a possibilityâŚ

I have a feeling once Obama leaves office about 10-15 states will accept the money and expand. Because he isnât going to stand for election again, you can see how many of these states are already thinking about expansion.
Conservatives were never really against ObamaCare on philosophical grounds, it was always mostly partisan reasons.
I guarantee you heâs looking for a way to get permission to try it in a way that (a) letâs them misuse the funds and (b) allows them to break it so they can âproveâ it doesnât work.
What will happen if the Supremos declare Obamacare unconstitutional in the case now pending?
Anybody got any ideas?
Inquiring minds want to know.
The oil boom is ending, and lack of healthcare is one of 2-3 issues that could eventually awaken the sleeping giant (healthcare) among Latinos is Texas.
I actually think it will put several GOP governors and statehouses in a deep political mess. Fixing the problem would merely require all those GOPers to simply sign a two line bill that declares the federal exchange their state exchange. Or Obama could use it to have a showdown with Congress. He could refuse to sign any bill until Congress sends him a bill that fixes the language at issue. They would simply need to capitalize âstateâ or change it to United States of America. Itâs such a petty, yet easy to understand issue that would be a massive headache for the GOP.
Can we say hyp-o-fucking-rits
Only a provision of the ACA is being ruled on, albeit a big one. And frankly I think the SCOTUS will keep the ACA intact. I think they just view this as an important issue that needs to be ruled on. Itâs a minor language issue, and they generally will rule on intent. Even the nuts like Thomas who just like to rule against Obama realize that doing major damage to the ACA will destroy the Republicans. Too many people are benefiting from it now. Just think of all those middle and upper middle class moderate voters who now have their under 26 and under kids on their insurance. Suddenly they will be dropped. I just donât see SCOTUS getting 5 votes to do that.
You are probably right.
What a fucking prick - and what is wrong with the people of Texas? My niece married a Texan and has adopted that mindset. She used to be such a reasonable person when she lived in NJ.
