Discussion: Report: HUD Senior Adviser Fired For Anti-Trump Writings During Campaign

“As an African-American, like so many of my peers, I am concerned about police brutality, the lack of economic and educational opportunities for our urban cities, and the complete disregard for criminal justice reform,” he wrote. “Hearing the nominee of my party ignore these harsh truths and opt for words like ‘law and order’ sounds like a coded message from an era in our history that should stay in the past.”

Damning words. He may just as well have written: “Given the opportunity I will kill the Donald J. Trump!”

Then again, that’s what he gets for being a Rethugliklan — lynched, figuratively speaking.

If HUD reportedly told him the anti-Trump writing wasn’t the cause for his dismissal, then this article’s title needs to be rewritten.

No surprise, not remotely.

Is this even news??

Is there anyone who would NOT have fired him? How about his inapposite regret at being caught – is anybody moved by that empty surplusage?

I guess that this wasn’t the guy that Chiselin’ Trump referred to as “my African-American.”

It says in the article:

Singleton answered questions about the piece and expressed remorse for it, the Times said, but when he was fired on Wednesday, HUD officials reportedly told him it was the reason for his termination.

Man, Trump should not fire one of very few blacks willing to work for him.

Black Republicans- ya gotta wonder. Just sayin’.

I’m surprised he was just fired. When the Trump regime is more firmly ensconced, people like him will be disappeared to black sites and waterboarded to find out who else shares his views.

Black Republicans = Log Cabin Republicans

Some humans seem to have a bizarre compulsion to seek the company of those who hate them.

and expressed remorse for it,

That’s the most pathetic aspect of this situation—the craven self-abnegation simply to get a job working for people who hate you.

The contrast with those who willingly put their very lives on the line in the struggle for basic civil rights in the South is stark.

He’s lucky it happened now and not later, when the spray-tanned fart-ballon moves to having people torn apart by dogs like Kim Jong Un does to people who say bad things about him. Yeah, I know it’s Fox…

“A Republican asks: Aren’t we morally obliged to stand up to Trump?”

Asking Republicans to acknowledge moral obligation.

That’s just adorable!

Mr. Singleton is a very bright man and he is young enough to understand that he will have to reassess his political beliefs. Cause the GoP don’t like strong, smart and articulate Black man amongst their mist. His opinion of Trump was and is, virtually the TRUTH! And I for one, thank him for being critically honest about his political candidate.

Sounds like the title of this article just as easily could have been: Black Republican Discovers Why Most African-Americans Vote Democratic.

If you are gay, black, hispanic or female and you are republican - you are a self hating know-nothing with your head in the sand and a willing co-conspirator with the right’s attack on democracy.
Period.

“Singleton answered questions about the piece and expressed remorse for it,.”

I think Mr. Singleton may have a well paying and prestigious future job as a caddy at one of Trump’s golf courses.
