As the Supreme Court has shown time and maybe again, keep the government out of Hobby Lobby’s business!
God will sort it out.

How’s that “not bearing false witness” thing working out for you?

I’m guessing none of those tablets had “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors goods” on it ?

See? Obama ordered the jack-booted thugs to throttle these Freedom-loving God-supporters FOUR YEARS before the supreme COURT ruling because he knew they were going to DEFEAT HIS SOCIALIZED MEDICINE!!!

Mark my words: Limbaugh and others will claim that Obama went after them because of the Obamacare challenge (but they’ll fail to mention that the investigation started before lawsuit).

please please please let Customs and FBI agents be first in line when the museum opens… it would be great to see seizure and forfeit tags on the majority of the exhibits…

How very “christian” of you!

Each time I hear someone hold up their christian religion as if it were a badge of honor, my skin crawls.

Absolutely not a shocker. When the sovereign nation of Iraq was illegally invaded and occupied, many feared this type of action. GWBush and his people. The fact it’s currently Hobby Lobby in the spotlight for this type of reprehensible action is just a bit of whipped cream ontop the banana split. If found guilty, I’m just hoping Green and his wife actually pay a heavy financial toll as well as go to federal prison for more than enough years to scare the shit out of others doing the same or contemplating doing so.

may include items that the family unwittingly acquired through illicit means

That makes no sense to me. Their dealings were either above board or not.

Wouldn’t requiring proper wording on an import manifest for religious artifacts be an infringement on Hobby Lobby’s right to free speech and free exercise of religion? Should the government be allowed to dictate what you say, in this case what you say on a manifest? Scalia will have to remedy this.

If only the bible had some kind of rules to live by. Something to deal with people stealing stuff.

If you are buying antiquities, it is incumbent upon you to establish the provenance of those items. They knew exactly what they were doing, and did it anyway, ´cos Jesus.

Anybody who buys stolen cultural heritage needs to go to jail for a long time.

Lets not dismiss this as a simple case of cultural artifacts theft. Those things are stolen as part of an act of plunder. People are killed in order to get these things. They are also a part of a nations culture. They have only one moral place they can be…in their ancestral home.

It doesn’t matter if he thought he was doing things legally. What he was doing necessitates the killing of innocents and the deprivation of a culture of its heritage and past. He must know that. It doesn’t mater if its the Taliban blowing up the Bamiyan Buddhas or this asshole buying them away…they are gone from their people. This is an obscene form of greed.

They’ll be OK. Corporations are people when they buy politicians, because “Freedom of Speech”, and can have a conscience, because “Bible”, but not when they steal things or hurt people. Because “Corporate Veil”. So in this case, he says “sure some artifacts could be illicit, why not? I don’t know, who cares? We are just a corporation who imported some stuff illegally. Please refer your questions to our team of lawyers and kindly fuck off.”
