Unless they take their party back from the so-called base they will be in the wilderness for a decade.
When will one of them says he is a Republican. You know the party of Ike, Bob Taft and moderates like Jack Javits and even Ford. They have sold out to Fox News and talk radio. No party can survive without moderates. Fortunately most Democrats see this, although some don’t.
Too bad the Senate ad spend doesn’t go to Ohio. All we get are commercials where Rob Portman pretends to be conservative and moderate, pro-union and “right-to-work” at the same time. No Strickland ads in at least two weeks
That right there. I know women like this one. Evidently, the only way they can cope with their everyday subjection to men who think like Trump is to joke and talk about grabbing men because they want to and fantasize about being in the presence of a rich guy who would find them attractive enough to make a pass. It gives them a tiny little shred of not feeling powerless. And it’s true, there is no way to get through to them. It would crack their universe in such a way that they couldn’t survive it.
Missouri is interesting. One has to wonder about CNN reporter Tal Kopan, however.
She wrote:
Key to Kander’s chances will be whether he can find split-ticket voters. Clinton’s supporters are likely to vote for him, but a winning coalition will require peeling off some Republican support from Blunt.
This strikes me as odd. Most ticket-splitting this year should involves Repubkicans who do not vote for Trump (e.g. Johnson) but votie for Republicans down ticket. Here, you would have, I guess, people who vote for Trump, but not Blunt. Huh? I guess a split ticket might be Johnson, Kander, and the rest GOP candidates (should be measurable). Have I missed something here? Missouri has trended GOP in recent years.
I have a friend who was a classmate of Applegate, says he’s a really decent fellow, not in it for the prestige or power, actually wants to make the world a better place.
Just sent you a map of the district – problem is probably Mission Viejo - San Diego Coastal Communities are a little mellower…
