Itâs happened to people with more common sense than him. One of the Philly TV stations used to send this motor-mouthed feature reporter out to different towns for community profile pieces and when she came to mine it was amazing the shameless contortions otherwise normal people would do to get some air time. Itâs like a madness takes over.

Being an old fart living in a cave I sometimes miss subtle nuances like the mad popularity of âgoing liveâ on Facebook or texting photos of food but I know from years behind the lens that fame even in tiny doses extracts a heavy price.

Weâll be sorting out and trying to manage the good and bad effects for, well, ever. But you certainly canât overstate the importance of new communication technologies fulfilling innate drives like the need for attention. Personally Iâm glad Iâm old enough to remember a time before smart phonesâitâs only been 10 yearsâand social media and such. Gives you perspective.

I only meant perspective on the world pre- and post-digital technology. As for resetting things, I thought of this article about a memoir and thoughts on all that. Money quote:

I, for one, am fucking tired of waiting for this to be made public. The only reason I can see at this point for not releasing everything concerning Russia, the Donald, the 2016 election and the transition is there are legitimate security as in going to war concerns. Otherwise, if itâs shit that can bring down the administration, it needs to be made public now. The longer the current wag the dog charade continues, the less believable to the hoi polloi this all becomes.

Itâs not cynicism. In Nunesâ case itâs likely ass covering as he was part of Team Trump. He is, at the very least, tainted by association.
