I’m sure they have some kind of pamphlet that explains their tortured logic around shaming/controlling women but not “punishing” them for seeking an abortion.
I actually have micro-sympathy for Trump here. How could he have possibly imagined, while adopting an anti-abortion stance, that these foaming at the mouth people are not for all the punishment?
With his statement Rump just said what the anti-abortion movement thinks. They know it comes off as extreme so they prefer to not speak of it.
They may back out of the phone call when it’s discovered they all have to sign non-disclosure agreements beforehand.
In other words, Trump will try to convince an audience of Theocrats, who might be inclined to support Cruz, that Trump’s brand of “Fascism wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross” ain’t a bad option for them either.

What the article should say is, “Donald Trump will debate Donald Trump at an anti-abortion group meeting.”
“Trump has a tension-ridden relationship with the anti-abortion movement, which has had serious questions about his commitment to the cause.”
Serious questions like this one:
MoDo: “When he was a swinging bachelor in Manhattan, was he ever involved with anyone who had an abortion?”
Trump: “Such an interesting question. So what’s your next question?”

The way Donald talks about people in general and women specifically makes me feel like he couldn’t give a damn about women having abortions.
I’m so trying not to get my hopes up about this, but man does this have potential to be a truly glorious derp festival. How can it not end up an epic fail no matter what he says or does? How?

Yeah…that was pretty classic, and got largely ignored everywhere. I do wonder if it gets brought up at this meeting.
But politico had a far more interesting story about what is going on internally with the Trump campaign right now.
Apparently there is a power struggle going on between Lendowski and the new guy, Paul Manafort, Trump has brought on board to help with the delegate selection process.
According to the article, Manafort is about to walk, with a slew of people behind him, right at the moment when Trump really, REALLY needs to be focused on the delegate selection process. And of course, sticking with a campaign manager under indictment for battery against a reporter…a FRIENDLY reporter…is just really bad politics.
So I am guessing Trump back Corey, and Manafort walks.
I hope Trump has a Plan B.
OT: Trump is at this moment serving up one of his patented stream-of-near-consciousness word salads in New York City as we type. It’s, as usual, filled with references to “The Wall” and “Making America Great Again” and…“We’re always losing” “We can’t ever win” “Our military is in ruins” “Nothing works any more” “Obama is a disaster” …blah, blah, blah…
I have to say that he is, in one regard, a miracle worker. Who would have ever thought that anyone on this planet could manage to make Ted Cruz even slightly acceptable in any regard…That took work.
I just can’t freakin’ wait for this Trumpnado’ to roar into Cleveland.

Trump floated 4 different versions of his “beliefs” in less than a week…none of which made anyone happy.
So, he apparently “missed” the call.
I’m sure disrespecting that part of his constituency and the many others they represent endeared him to them.
