His lawyers will get paid tons for filing a frivolous case and arguing for months about whether the case should be dismissed before it is, in fact, dismissed.
My understanding is that the NBA requires owners submit their disputes to binding arbitration.

This is going NOWHERE - do you think his legal team would put him on the stand? … do you think any one would take the case seriously if he did not take the stand? Do you think he would live ( with any degree of coherency) long enough to see this actually come to court …

Depends on which lawyer you talk to. I’ve seen quotes from “a lawyer from Donald Sterling” that says he’s fine as frog fur. I’m sure Shelly’s lawyers will say he’s crazy as a shithouse rat. All I know is the sale’s going through, and Donald’s lawyers are trying to save face.

If Sterling has been officially adjudged “mentally incapacitated,” then how can the NBA force him to sell his team based on comments made by an incapacitated individual? The NBA wanted this ruling of mental incapacitation to smooth the sale of the team, but you cannot hold someone responsible for impolitic remarks if that person has been officially deemed mentally impaired.
