Nunes: I dont care what Liberals think, Putin is very very happy with my work.
Nadler is one of the good guys, and has been for a long time.
My response to related wonderful summary from Jennifer Rubin in WPO just now published:
As we have come to expect over the past year, this column of yours Jennifer is a lighthouse beacon of clarity for our democracy, warning us away from the rocks of Trump Forever.
I wish that your appeal to Republicans whom you know were not falling on the deaf ears of so many. Perhaps they are telling us something by not running for re-election, something they are unwilling to speak out against even when further public office is not in play for them. If so, what could that encouraging them to behave that way? Fear? Cowardice? Guilt?
However, I am optimistic that your audience extends far beyond those who have chosen not to stand up. It seems to me that the release of this memo in the partisan way it was done strongly strengthens the case of obstruction against the bully boy in the White House. And his end is in sight with the boots of true patriots ready to kick him out of office.
As for Nunes, given his fecklessness, we can only hope for another botched effort from him to protect Trump. That will surely finish off both of them.
The democrats are too freaking reasonable when countering these incompetent and dangerous reactionaries. Where are the mean spirited rhetorical machine guns of the Democratic Party? There’s a time for “they go low we go high” but there’s also a time for if they go low we “gut them like a fish.”
Also, Nadler wrote, Nunes provides no proof that the government “knowingly and intentionally, or with reckless disregard for the truth” misled the FISA court with its warrant application.
Nunes provides no evidence, let alone proof! All he offers are unsupported claims. That’s like me saying, “Devin Nunes rapes goats on his farm on weekends,” without mentioning that I’ve actually seen him do it.
You read my mind.
I think in that context, you’re supposed to supply something that is obviously untrue. Wait…
Speaking of fish, you caught all the relevant clichés. The go low, go high thing was not a party principle, it was something the most hopeful of women, Michelle Obama, said. I’m turned off by the bombast and over the top rhetoric of the Rs, maybe I’m not alone in being glad we don’t do it also.
@hquain You don’t get it either.
“Deliberately misleading.” Wow, pulling out the stops.
This is a dangerous game Republicans are playing.
They’ve already decided people who tend to vote Democratic (AAs, Hispanics, young people) are unworthy of the vote. They’ve decided Dreamers should be expelled from the only country they know, again largely because they’d probably vote Democratic.
Now they claim because a source may have been funded by a Democrat, that that’s enough to make them inherently unreliable and therefore the investigation untenable. But not so when the shoes are on the other foot (endless Benghazi investigations, hysterical bleatings about her e-mails, etc.).
In summary, Democrats have no right to vote, no right to participate in government, and are barely Americans…if you listen to Republicans. And meanwhile, they continue to crap all over the Constitution and act like they’re saving America.
Read the whole six-page memo Nadler released. Then comment.
The Democratic leadership needs to support outspoken folks like Jerry Nadler and Alan Grayson 100%. I recall the disgraced Anthony Wiener was also a fierce adversary who could boldly call out BS and lies publicly. Most other Democrats are too reluctant or meek and afraid to offend their shadow.
“We have no idea if Christopher Steele even knew the source of his funding when Fusion GPS first hired him to research Donald Trump’s connections to the Russian government…”
Actually, we do. Glenn Simpson testified before Congress that he did not know.
Notice Alan Grayson is no longer a member of the House, served only one term, and it’s because he was a screamer. Wiener likewise was a self-serving screamer hoping to makes his bones by screaming. Jerry Nadler, OTOH, has become a respected member of the House because he is not. It’s Democratic by the way.
I had high hopes for him and wish he could have kept his wiener in his pants.
The only thing that will surely finish off trump is a criminal indictment charging him with treason backed up by air tight evidence that none can dispute. Then, if he is in office at that point, the GOPers might see their way clear to impeach him. But still…even if a video surfaced of trump drowning puppies there would still be house members praising him for doing it.
This post is spot on. Thank you.
You know the memo was a dud when Democrats don’t want to talk about anything else, and Republicans want to talk about anything else. .
