Discussion for article #226271
Has anyone polled John McCain for his preference?
John McCain? I thought HE was the host.
Heâs on loan from Fox NewsâŚand everybody knows it.
This is taking longer than booting MS Windows.
Gregory, who has overseen a meteoric ratings fall at "Meet the Press" since he succeeded the late Tim Russert in 2008
You donât suppose having John McCain and Lindsey Graham on on alternate weekends, turn and turn-about, could have anything to do with that, do you?
They should get Dick GregoryâŚa least the comedy would be intentional.
Gregory on MTP: The Unintelligible interviewing the Unacceptable
Oh, FFS. I canât stand Gregory OR Chuck Todd but can we ramp-down the incidence of this middle-school-gossip inside baseball âreportingâ? I really donât give a shit that Gregory cut short his vacay OR that his job might be at risk. Câmon, TPM.
Frankly, it isnât the host but rather the ancient format.
Even as small-picture producers and execs attempt absurd production âfixesâ, fixes that in themselves traditionally signal TV death, the analog nature of the beast, its promise of insider gleanings and expert prognostication, comes off, more often than not, as quaint, behind the curve and, in a corporate-dominated world uneasy riding the unpredictable cresting wave of digitalâs now, unfixable unless the beast is junked and revisualized from scratch like a Hollywood take on a cartoon hero.
The Russert boy.
I think they should change the name to Grumpy Old John McCain and Friends.
The problem is not David Gregoryâs alone. The producers are worn out, the production is stale, and the bookers have extremely limited rolodexes.
Chuck Todd. Heâs Ed Henry without the stain of having jumped ship to Fox. Tools both. Why the hell anyone seeks to be informed watching the Sunday networks gabfests is beyond me. Having Todd run MTP further into the ground is just dandy.
Improving the show via quality and diversity are the last things on the money lovers list. Soledad OâBrien/Christiane Amanpour
And Chuck Todd will be an improvement??
Put Rachael Maddow in charge and see how fast McCain decides he wants to spend Sunday mornings at church with his family.
I met him on the street once near Dupont Circle. I said hi as I passed him and he gave a dismissive little gesture with his hand, refused eye contact, frowned and kept walking. That was all I needed to know about him. All animals are equal, but Pigs are more equal than others.
Too bad, for McCain, the feeling wonât be mutual. Thereâs a reason Cindy stays out of DC.
Without Tim Russert, âMeet The Pressâ is worthless.
Considering he was in the Dupont Circle area, maybe he didnât want to be recognized.
