It was a tragic incident involving people trying to be macho after watching too much teevee and/or taking themselves way too seriously. They killed a woman who was surrendering with a baby in the backseat.

Perhaps the Secret Service is trying to destroy the number one most effective shield for the President: their own reputation for being nearly invincible.
They should clean house like right now!

The Secret Service is a bunch of screw ups. First of all, how did the private contractor hire someone with such a history and then how was he capable of getting a license for a gun? He should be on a do not purchase list for guns, and their security check on him was entirely inadequate. The contractor should be fined, and the contract cancelled as soon as a new contractor is found.
Secondly, how is it that the Secret Service would permit ANYONE but the most important KNOWN individual from the CDC to get on an elevator with the President? The Secret Service needs to be replaced and from the ground up. The protocol for protecting the President, his family and The White House needs a complete overhaul. It was just revealed that an officer who had just gone off duty was the one to confront and tackle the man who invaded The White House after he got over the fence, in the front door, and knocked down a Guard near the front door. Why would they tackle an invader instead of just shooting them? What if he had explosives on his body?

Wondering how deep the hatred of our President runs. After all, an ex presidential protection service agent is writing in the Washington Post about putting Allen West in the head spot which is tantamount to asking a shark to guard a seal. When combined with everything else we’re learning, one wonders if the Secret Service is willfully negligent? Otherwise it’s just comedic to the point of keystone kops.

And let’s not forget about that time in South Africa at Nelson Mandela’s funeral when that man pretended to be a Sign Language interpreter. He could have harmed the president, and I was stunned that the Secret Service had not vetted this man earlier.
I am now extremely nervous regarding the president and the First Family’s safety, and I no longer have faith in the Secret Service. Julia Pierson should definitely resign and the agency itself should be overhauled.

A Secre Service agent was shot as well. He was the pushing Reagan in the car.
Job one is to protect him. Chasing down leads should have no impact on the primary mission of protection. No excuse here just sloppy work.
