Mike Arnold, the attorney representing Ammon Bundy, was not happy with the timing of Cliven Bundy’s arrest.

The ‘timing’ of the arrest was perfect. The only place on earth he could be guaranteed to be unarmed is an airport. They would have been absolute idiots to miss the opportunity.

The following information ought to accompany every article about Bundy from now on:

“I believe this is a sovereign state of Nevada,” Bundy said in a radio interview last
Thursday. “I abide by all of Nevada state laws. But I don’t recognize
the United States government as even existing.”

Ironically, this position directly contradicts Article 1, Section 2 of the Nevada Constitution:

All political power is inherent in the people. Government is
instituted for the protection, security and benefit of the people; and
they have the right to alter or reform the same whenever the public good
may require it. But the Paramount Allegiance of every citizen
is due to the Federal Government in the exercise of all its
Constitutional powers as the same have been or may be defined by the
Supreme Court of the United States; and no power exists in the
people of this or any other State of the Federal Union to dissolve their
connection therewith or perform any act tending to impair, subvert, or
resist the Supreme Authority of the government of the United States. The
Constitution of the United States confers full power on the Federal
Government to maintain and Perpetuate its existence, and whensoever any
portion of the States, or people thereof attempt to secede from the
Federal Union, or forcibly resist the Execution of its laws, the Federal
Government may, by warrant of the Constitution, employ armed force in
compelling obedience to its Authority."

Bundy claims allegiance to the Nevada constitution, but he’s pig-ignorant of its sections that completely undermine his idiotic assertions. I would wager a big box of money that gun-humping Michelle Fiore is no more conversant with this than Bundy is.

No merely a state legislator, but that person is a member of Nevada’s government, not Oregon’s. She is basically a meddling interloper looking for publicity, a true idiot like most politicians, and just like the terrorists she supports in Oregon’s Malheur Wildlife Refuge, and Cliven the Freeloading Seditionist.

She’s a close friend of the Bundys and one of the remaining four people (Jeff Banta) is from Nevada. But, really, it’s because she’s a publicity whore.

It’s strange to me, but with wingnuts in general and these antigovernment zealots in particular they’re really unusually impaired in the thinking department—they don’t have much education, or much native intelligence, or much common sense, natch, but what really trips them up is they don’t even have the folk wisdom to not fight city hall and to not go looking for trouble. Don’t go looking for trouble. That’s just not a hard concept to grasp. All you can do is shake your head.

She supported Bundy in the original standoff and she’s enough of a wackaloon that the other wackaloons trust her, it seems. She’s a total freak but if I were negotiating with these people and my job were to keep the guns quiet I’d let her help too.
