Well, he is right.

What was going on that the police would be chasing him?

Maybe not in the numbers they have been shooting blacks these days or that we knew of. I am sure we just know more about it now/.

So this is what passes for humor in his mind? Can’t wait to hear the holocaust jokes, the breast cancer crack-ups and the rest of his litany of what he finds humorous. Where’s Megyn Kelly bitching about this, rather than Hillary and Lenny’s dick shot?

The problem–the perspective–is one of empathy. Carson thinks that his world is the real world–he can’t place himself in another’s shoes. He doesn’t see what its like for a black man running away from a cop, or giving lip to a cop, or arguing with a cop and being shot in consequence. His experience is the ONLY experience.

When he was running from the police they didn’t shoot you. They just railroaded you into life in prison for stealing a loaf of bread or had vigilantes burn your church to the ground for looking at a white woman.

"Those were the days , my friend
I knew that I was black
And I wasn’t ashamed to be, you know.

But now , I realize that being black
you know, is not as profitable as being OREO.

Carson is a raging sociopath. He has NO EMPATHY and never has had any.
Unfortunately, the absolute lack of empathy is an absolute BOON to an experimental-neurosurgeon. It allows you to be clinically detached about your patients and treat all of them as just another mildly interesting surgical experiment.
Carson has developed a bad case of “God Syndrome” from his time as neurosurgeon. He is convinced that whatever HE THINKS is the truth.

So we learn a couple things here:

  1. He dissociates from other AAs by trying to be “above” them and this pretension started as early as his childhood.

  2. As a result, he thinks the shoot-first-ask-questions-never (because they already know the answer, obviously) mentality of our police forces when dealing with black people is funny.

I almost feel like this is a Vaudeville act.

I’m starting to look upon Carson as a kind of black version of a “Jew for Jesus.”

Joking? Okay, maybe so, but still shows insensitivity to what is now happening. If he would only take on the problem of police brutality, then that would be news worthy.

Well, there goes the white racist cops vote . . .

Personality is fully formed around age 18 or so and is relatively stable after that.
He has been a sociopath and narcissist for some time now.

Imagine ANY doctor or engineer, or lawyer or teacher or plumber retiring and deciding he/she wanted to be POTUS as a 2nd career.

Carson goes out his way to be divisive. It’s almost a constant sneer. What makes this man hate so much about this country?

I’d take issue with “raging”. Otherwise, I’m good with your comment.

Republican “humor.”

In his day, police didn’t shoot you. Of course, in those days, the number of “suicide by shot to the back” cases were astronomical.
