Carson claims the SS actually suggest he needs them. Why? Because book promo tours carry such a threat to one of our key essential resources, to witless: our leading Clown Car contestants? I expect what’s happened here is someone from Carson’s campaign raised, sensing a boffo marking opportunity, contacted someone in the RNC or the Congressional GOP majority offices and now Carson, a notable mumbler and zombie TeaP whisperer, has taken his usual doctor-entitled license with that and is running that into a “request” or “suggestion”.
Trump’s 100% colon-extracted statement is more credible: it doesn’t require the press or public buy into any soon-to-be-uncovered-&-revealed fiction about any of him, the Trump campaign or the SS expressing concern or interest in this.
Trump plays this GOP-as-victim game so much better than Carson.

With the sh1t that comes out of his mouth, I’m sure he needs protection, but that’s true of a lot of people who don’t get it. Maybe he should shut up and stay home, instead of spreading his hate speech, xenophobia, and ignorance of basic science all over the TV.
I’ll give him credit for one thing, though. When I think about Trump, I realize things could always be worse.
