Discussion for article #242289
Bush did basically disappear tonight, he is not wrong.
But he was having a horrible night anyway. I mean, when he finally does get a question, he decides to brag about his fantasy football team??
The Houston confab can’t correct the reality that JEB is a horrible politician. The death spiral continues.
Of course Bush is near the bottom, look at his poll numbers.
Damn it! His parents are paying for that microphone.
Given ¡Je!'s (“B” removed to achieve 40% cost reduction) penchant for committing unforced errors and general asshattery:
Limited time = Maximum protection.
And after Bush’s people were done complaining, Jim Webb really tore 'em a new one.
“The exchange was described as a “heated confrontation,” according to Politico, citing two unnamed sources.”
Hey, give the guy a break; at least someone on the Bush team generated some heat tonight.
Bush didn’t generate so much as scattered applause. After each of his comments, it was quiet as a tomb.
“Don’t you know who I am!!”
Kasich didn’t resonate either. He had a couple of different opportunities in which he gave long monologues and was able to speak unchallenged. I didn’t hear a single golf clap afterward.
from what i saw (the last 45m), he’s likely pleased that he was given so little time. it also provides an opportunity to play the victim of that mean old librul media conspiring against him.
Yes, Kasich is the Jon Huntsman of this election. The only one with anything near substance, and he can’t get traction.
Not that I like him; I think his policies would be a disaster, but at least he seems capable of stepping out of the bubble at times.
But in contrast, Bush merits obscurity.
I lay this at the feet of the candidate. If you have something to say, then say it! Believe me, no one’s going to stop you. This is just another manifestation of Jeb’s blah, “whatever”- type attitude he’s had throughout this campaign. I really don’t think his heart is in this.
Jon Huntsman’s campaign is the perfect analogy. We knew he would be a formidable opponent, we knew he could win, but all the GOP saw was a weak RINO whining about civility, unable to land a single punch. My guess is Kasich is out before Christmas. That said, I can’t decide who will last longer, Kasich or Jeb!?
Sounds like the campaign’s focused on only the most important things.
I think Kasich. Although his policies, like Jeb’s, align with the party establishment, he has an annoying habit of exposing and calling attention to the groupthink of the Republican base.
Also, I think Jeb might feel he has the ability to ride this out and maneuver in the event some of this opponents drop out. That, and I think his ego won’t allow him to drop out before at least one primary election.
Maybe he should’ve kicked dirt on his shoes. How much of this has to go down before we dispense with the “GOP tough guy” thing?
Chucklebee was really in the big-boy debate?
Look at burn rate.
OOOOOoooooh! That was COLD!
