You mean aside from the sad fact they live and work in Tennessee, right?

Same with some House Representatives in Congress, such as Montana which have a single at-large Representative since the state only has one Representatives in the House (due to apportionment), which covers the whole state.

Alaska, Delaware Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming and Vermont all have one “at-large” Representative.

What an idiotic statement/attempt at humor.

The city councils in Ramadi and Fallujah are starting to get a little pissed about all this American one-upmanship.

No information yet about the gunman I guess, besides “dead” (which is a good start)

A crude but effective photo to remind the ammo-sexuals just how insipid their mindless rhetoric is:

But that only proves that one gun per person is not enough.</>

I am guessing “Domestic Terrorism” means not an Islamic terrorist?

Yep. In the US, most legislative bodies no longer have “at large” seats because they were a very useful tool for racists. If a town had 10 seats on the city council, and, for example 60% white, 40% black voters, at-large elections would allow the white majority to elect 10 white city council members by voting as a bloc. With districts (even with gerrymandering, you would expect something closer to a 6/4 split.)

This isn’t even shocking anymore. It’s just a Thursday in America.

Such shenanigans wouldn’t be necessary if the 3/5ths rule had been left in place, as God and the Founding Fathers (insert Hallelujah Chorus here) had intended.

That’s assuming geographical segregation by race.

That’s a powerful photo.

I think Meri was just trying to make a joke. It didn’t work.

Let’s hope this was not motivated by the Jade Helm conspiracy theory nutcases.

Is so, the governor of Texas will have a lot of explaining to do for giving credence to what is a total lie and beyond insane. Republicans may have whipped up their 2nd Amendment nutcases with itchy trigger fingers into a frenzy? I believe that would be called accessory before the fact.

Hinkley mumbled “Who wants to get shot today?” and Reagan had to go and raise his damned hand.

Actually, there is a bill in Congress right now to FORCE the US Military to allow “all enlisted personnel AND civilian contractors (!!!)” to “open-carry” their PERSONAL weapons on all US military bases and forbidding the Pentagon from enforcing their own regulations on weapons. Right now who can and cannot carry a loaded weapon on a US Military base is narrowly controlled (and has been for a VERY long time.)
Typical NRA bullshit. The Pentagon is dead-set against it.

If military personnel can be taken by surprise by a single shooter then how in the hell can some average citizen with a pistol stop this???

When will sanity arrive on the shores of the United States and lay to waste these delusions that more guns mean people are safer and that a good guy with a gun can stop a bad guy with one???

Oh right…never!!!

The gunman hit 2 recruitment offices, both in strip malls, about a 15min drive apart, and both were in strip malls.
