C’mon, $20 million is more than enough if you don’t pay the contractors and suppliers.
Trump Playbook Option # 1.
and use illegals
If you really think we need a wall to keep America safe but won’t raise your precious taxes to fund it; well, you’re either a liar or a traitor.
$20 million might cover the costs of the bidding process. MIGHT.
Who are the folks Trump uses to fund his real estate ventures? Get them to pony up.
Trump: We are going to save this 20Million for Melania’s security while she shops in NYC. Wall is going to be paid 100% by Mexico. I guarantee it.
From what I understand, they’ve opened that process.
Donald J. Trump: “All Hat, No Cattle”
Why would Russia want to fund a wall to stop Mexican immigration into the US?
But have they really looked into economical options?
(need to resurrect this one for shits and giggles)
@daveyjones64 - I applaud your optimism that there will be an open and transparent bidding process! People are saying that a no-bid contract is being drafted with TrumpWalls, Inc.
Toss in treason and you have the trifecta.
In reality, Mexico’s citizens have already paid for Trump’s proposed wall many times over.
According to the Social Security Administration, undocumented workers contribute $15 billion annually to the fund, but only withdraw an estimated $1 billion.
According to the New York Times, the chief actuary of the Social Security Administration claims that undocumented workers have contributed close to 10% ($300 billion) of the Social Security Trust Fund.
Their contributions to the economy far outweigh their burden.
Altogether, according to the state and local tax data analysis—published by the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy (ITEP)—undocumented immigrants contribute about $11.6 billion to the economy annually, including nearly $7 billion in sales and excise taxes and $3.6 billion in property taxes. They are, in economic terms, productive citizens, and pay a higher effective tax rate than the top 1 percent income bracket.
Add in all the economic benefit we reap with cheap undocumented labor in just our food industry and the dollars they have brought to dying meat packing towns all over the Midwest, a wall would hurt us financially more than Mexico.
That’s the point…why would anyone fund the wall.
I’ll use snark font next time.
Lots of dominos will fall. Rental properties will become vacant. Hundreds of thousand of children will be forced into the already stretched thin foster system. With no bread winner, more citizen children will start to receive TANF, SNAP, Medicaid.
Jobs will be vacated but not the sort of jobs that will be easily filled by a waiting workforce. Construction projects will stop or go bankrupt. Nannies won’t show up, leaving the working parent(s) without childcare. Restaurants, hotels will find themselves without workers and prices will have to go up if and when the jobs are filled.
But there will be plenty of short-term jobs for repo men and foreclosers. Yup, many dominos.
This is also what happens when you don’t bother to appoint any sub-cabinet people to executive departments. All the permanent employees are running their little bit of the organization, and when someone asks “So, how much of your budget and perks would you be willing to give up to fund this completely ridiculous idea the president campaigned on?” the laughter can be heard all the way to the front of the building.
And, $20 billion is extremely unlikely to cover the cost of building the wall as described by little Donnie. It would build a nice fence, but only because that already exists. This is the equivalent of the Trump University scam.
And ignore eminent domain. Just build through the private property.
I think if all the white people in America pitched in with their dimes and dollars and lent a hand in construction, we could get this baby up and standing in no time. What d’ya say, America!!
I love the single Allen wrench.
