Katy TX is a sprawling conservative-to-highly-conservative (nee whitebread) enclave west of Houston.
A middle-class to upper-class community whose fervency for the Texas high-school football culture knows no bounds (Katy Tigers have lost a total of 11 games in 10 years).
As well as a hotbed for evangelical programming.

I’m surprised that a shooting that leaves only two dead still qualifies as news anywhere in this country. At this point, it’s about as common as a teenager stealing beer from a convenience store…but that never makes the headlines.
It’s confusing… When he was killing folks he was the bad guy. Then he turned the gun on himself which makes him the good guy at that point. This gun stuff is turning into rocket surgery…just can’t figure it out anymore.
