Pence made a pretty stupid statement calling Cohen’s financial issues a private matter. That’s a clear signal that those around Trump are pushing him to cut Cohen off. If he hasn’t flipped already (he has per others I follow) this is another sign that he should.

Hey!

It ain’t bribery if the quo never existed. It’s not influence peddling if Cohen had no influence to peddle. And the influence purchasers can’t sue Cohen for failure to deliver any sort of quo or influence, because there can be no enforceable contract for influence peddling or bribery.

Who says Cohen isn’t a good shyster?

The prototype for this would be the Teapot dome, but there the bribe-taker was convicted while the bribe-payers were acquitted. Doesn’t work out so well for Cohen.

I gotta guess the GOP congress critters are betting DHS got it wrong about the Russians failing to hack the vote, cause their future doesn’t look very bright in a post-election world.
What with all the resignations, the party’s leadership doesn’t seem to share their faith, so I’m not sure it’s a very good bet.

I do not remember if it was Josh or another person that wrote up a description of money laundering and the fixer role. But the last few days of revelations have fit that process to a tee. With that in mind, if the player’s names and context had been stripped from discussion, it would be obvious that is what is going on even to a Trump supporter. Replace Trump with Bill Clinton and Cohen with Hillary and they would be going Aha!
