Discussion: Rep. Steve Scalise Back In Intensive Care Unit 3 Weeks After Shooting

If Dem gun legislation had been passed, Hodgkinson would not have been able to pass a background check and buy a gun legally. If all people at the scene besides the police had been armed and had many states’ minimum amount of training required for their gun permits (none*), there would have been a lot more dead people on the scene than just the shooter.

Another ā€œuncomfortableā€ truth.

(Much as I dislike him, I am sorry for him and his family. But still biting my tongue not to blurt out ā€œkarmaā€!)

One thing about a .223 is they cause tremendous damage to the human body. Too bad we can’t have some controls put in place since they have no real function other than, well, to cause tremendous damage to the human body.

It is sad that Scalise was shot by a fellow citizen exercising his Second Amendment right to defend himself from a tyrannical government, but I’m sure when he’s back on his feet he’ll continue to support that right unconditionally.

Terrorists have Second Amendment rights too. The NRA says so.

Good thing he is not like other Americans who could get fired for being out of work for so long and then lose health insurance.

O/T, but have you seen what the Shitgibbon just said in Poland?

My thoughts, prayers and blessings for a speedy recovery.

That’s why the NRA likes them so much.

I’m somewhat gratified to find out that Congress’s inaction after the Giffords shooting had nothing to do with her political affiliation.

Ah, back again.

We all express disgust with the rancor in politics today. This is a time to put politics aside and feel compassion and support for a human being going through a terrible struggle. And for his family.

Yup, nothing like trusting your own intelligence services.

Who probably know a lot more about him than he realizes…and will someday make good use of it.

Yup, I’d flagged it too.

I agree with your call for controls, but there are legitimate uses for .223 ammo, such as varmint, fox and coyote hunting. It’s the high ammo capacity and wanna be soldier guns we don’t need. If you can’t hit a groundhog with a single shot you shouldn’t be using the weapon at all.

Agree, we may have great disgust for this man’s politics but he is a person, a father, a husband, someone’s son, etc. Even if he pulls through the infection, it’s likely he may not walk again. For his family and loved ones, I do wish him wellness and a speedy recovery.
