And weed out the cases where the faked signatures were by mercenary signature collectors who were paid by the signature and weren’t all that interested in who or what the signatures were for.
Interesting. Did not know that. Thanks.
Only a moron thinks that this is a Republican issue. But bias and partisan blinkers are common on this site.
This took 20 seconds on Google to find.
This idiot woman faked signatures. She also turned in only 1 extra signature. She did not contest the finding of fraud. She may be charged with electoral fraud. I hope she will be.
It never fails to amaze me how this most basic component of the electoral process, qualifying for the ballot, can be messed up by missing deadlines, filling out the wrong form, not getting extra signatures to replace disqualified signatures, not getting signatures from persons registered to your party, etc. In my case, the State D party gave me a list of Dems in my district to ask. It was not difficult.
And why should such persons be excluded? If you hire others to collect signatures and do not do due diligence, you are responsible for the outcomes.
When I ran, I collected my own signatures. I didn’t need many, so I had that luxury.
That’s a great idea.
@maricaibo 's second link mentions regulations and other important information to know if you are going to be registering people. Go through that to keep you and the registrants out of trouble.
Ducey (?) went to visit them in Sedona at their ranch about a week before the deadline; he came away with McCain’s promise not to resign and trigger a special election (I think this was the end of May or June) and it was ‘speculated’ that Ducey said if John played nice HE would play nice. Of course if I were Cindy I’d hire bodyguards to keep Kelli Ward away from me, SHE was demanding John resign and Ducey name HER to the seat. Boy, that Ward woman is ‘quite’ the piece of work, eh? Her statement today is just below classless all the way into tasteless.
One would exclude neutrals if one was trying to examine the strength of a “both sides do it” claim.
If you are speaking of ballot initiatives, I’d agree with that. Otherwise, the campaign candidate is responsible.
Quick!! Call Kris Kobach!! Voter fraud!!
Wait…the Rep.'s a republican? Never mind.
What does the 2016 Democratic candidate say about all this? Is he on board with this effort?
How about also omitting Taylor’s name from being on the general ballot on Nov 6, 2018?
Cheating GOPer!!!
Blame it on the lame Log Cabin arm of the GOP.
Their members claim are both conservative and gay. But they are very quiet about gay issues. Go figure.
Ward is one of those politicians you can tell never had a friend close enough to sit him or her down and tell them they are being an ass and they’d better shape up. There are way too many of those.
… and the powerful repug in charge says “I know nothing… I see nothing!”
But will Mitch McConnell say that when it is proven that Trump conspired with Putin to “win” the election?
It may be more than psychological. By loudly accusing your (truthful) accuser of the crime you committed, one can turn a very serious crime into a ridiculous sounding "I know you are but what am I?" act; and in the end voters shrug and say both parties are the same.
His Democratic opponent should point out that if he’ll throw his crew under the bus, he’ll most certainly do the same to his constituents.
“Virginia is for dead voters.”
My first thought as well. Hopefully we’ll hear frequent replays of this quote often during the general election.
You know what they call a campaign that doesn’t do due diligence to ensure that none of the signature gatherers they hire fakes a signature?
A campaign.
This has become uninteresting.
Just out of curiosity, have you run for office? Most people who pontificate and make loud pronouncements have not run.
