Discussion: Rep. Pete King: Sure Trump’s Judge Comments Were ‘Racist,’ But He’s Not!

That’s like saying: Sure, the terrorists King claims to hate so much committed terrorist acts, but they’re not really terrorists.

Hey, you have to understand he’s from a different era; when it wasn’t considered racist to try to bully a federal judge by making reference to his ethnicity!

Yeah, that should do it, Pete.

So he’s also not sexist, not a liar, not stupid, etc…

Where has Peter King been for the entire primary season? Trump has made a number of racist and racially insensitive comments all along the way. You can only judge whether one is a racist by words and actions and on that basis, there’s little doubt that Trump is one.

This kind of bullsh*t has been pretty common for a long time. I remember the argument that Shrub wasn’t really a racist or a homophobe, he was just pandering to people who were. And that’s just one; the list of politicians who are willing to throw some disadvantaged group under the bus for personal gain is almost endless, and every one of them claims they don’t really have any animus toward that group, they’re just doing it for some more important cause.

Pro tip: if you’re willing to smear some group of people to pander to another group, then, yes, you really are a bigot. Because you’re implicitly saying that the people you’re smearing aren’t important enough to receive basic respect. They’re just pawns. (And for some reason, you almost never hear that it’s OK, some politician is just savaging white folks or dominionists for political gain, don’t worry that they really feel that way…)

I would imagine if Trump said, “I’m a racist!” King would say something like, “Well, he claims he’s a racist but he never discriminates.”

Rep. Pete King: Sure Trump’s Judge Comments Were ‘Racist,’ But He’s Not!

Hey Pete have I got a deal for you, cheap on a NYC bridge, why not if you believe what you said you’ll believe anything.

Party First, Nation Last

Mmmmm not going well for Trump, when Republicans are having to admit that he keeps saying racist things.

Nope he’s not racist. He sees himself more like THIS at the .48 mark.

“He’s not a racist, he just plays one on TV!”

Sounds legit.

This from a guy who refuses to call the Irish Republican Army a terrorist organization. He is a full-throated supporter of the violence the IRA commits and he’s gone so far as to call the British government a “murder machine”.

“He’s been in the public light and the private light all those years and nothing has come up that I’m aware of, of any type of racism at all.”

In his 1991 book Trumped!, the former president of Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino, John R. O’Donnell, recalled Trump declaring that “laziness is a trait in blacks,” and exclaiming: “Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are little short guys that wear yarmulkes every day.” Trump acknowledged in a Playboy interview (5/97; cited Huffington Post, 4/29/11), “The stuff O’Donnell wrote about me is probably true.”

Steve, keep that news quiet,we are not suppose to know things like that exist.SSSSHHHHHHHH!!! LOL!

I was just saying the other day how misunderstood the KKK is.

They’re just good, regular folk who enjoy a good lynching now and again. Just a crazy coincidence that it’s always black people.

What about the 1973 DOJ civil rights case against Trump for discriminating against African-Americans in not allowing them to rent apartments in a Trump owned building? Applications from African-Americans were marked with the letter “C”. I’ll give you two guesses what that stands for, and the first one doesn’t count. Trump says he does not settle lawsuits that he can win. Well, he settled that one. I guess for King that just falls into the category of “nothing has come up that I’m aware of, of any type of racism at all”

Nothing other than his whole campaign for the last year, including his refusal to disavow white supremacists. And his jumping on the birther bandwagon beginning 5 years before that. And taking out a full page ad calling for the death penalty for the Central Park Five in 1989. And being sued by the Justice Department in the 1970s for not renting his apartments to black people. And being fined by New Jersey for racist practices in his casinos.

Other than that, nothing at all, you’re right.
