I for one approve of this. From what I have seen from him before he should be able to give a good strong response.
As long as he is the sole Democrat who actually attends Donnie’s “Farce of the Union”, I’m okay with it.
Yeah, how do you craft a response when no one really knows what Tramp will actually say when he has the chance to address an international audience on live TV? He loves to go off script.

If Kennedy’s response is simply reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, he’ll look far more socratic and patriotic than Hair Furor’s word salad regurgitation could have ever hoped for.

Democrats are either too civil or too timid, depending on who is critiquing them, to chant “YOU LIE” for the duration of his speech screech. I’d tune in just to chant along with them.

Similar to what I was thinking. Are they maybe making some sort of calculus that the Kennedy name can reel back in Obama-turned-Trump voters above a certain age? Give them a bit of a nudge for the mid-terms? I’m sure he’ll do fine, but…yeah.
My only problem with him is that he looks like he is 17! He is a great speaker. He gives me hope for the future.

I’m going to bet that Trump says something in his own speech to preemptively criticize Kennedy and his response, or at least criticize the Democrats’ selection of him to give the response. I don’t think he can let the opportunity pass - he just can’t do it.
ugh so tone deaf. i wanted Hillary as much as anyone, but Americans across the spectrum have shown they want new leadership, not recycled names. How will we find the next Obama when we give these prime slots to guys that got where they are because of their name?
