Pleads guilty to one of 20 charges but still is a Repub hero. Ahole should be in jail, not having any vote in government
The irony is that, in many states, being a felon means he loses his right to vote. As a member of congress, however, he will be able to vote on binding laws that effect the tax status, financial security, and general welfare of his constituents.
We all know three things with utter and clear certainty:
One, that Grimm should resign or be forced to resign from Congress.
Two, that Grimm does not have the grace or decency to resign.
THREE, that though Republicans may be quick to demand that a fellow Democratic Congress person (with say, a fine for jaywalking) be immediately removed from Congress, they never ever force fellow Republicans to resign, no matter the crime.
Of course he’s defiant. He’s a fucking Republicant - and a felon.
The house repugs will give him a heroes welcome. They love tax evaders.
The entire Republican party is corrupt why would they force Grimm to resign?
Of course he doesn’t want to pay his taxes. The Gov’mt will just waste it on worthless stuff - like Grimm’s paycheck.
He said he’d resign if he couldn’t carry out the duties of his position which I assume will do so if he gets the maximum 3 years. But as a first time offending non-colored who wasn’t found with eighth of OG Kush, he’ll probably get probation. Will probation allow him to leave New York?
There are very few things more Republican than evading taxes.
Anthony Weiner was forced by his own leadership in the Dem Party to resign for tweeting a juvenile pic of his weiner. Why? because we are “the adults in the room” Huh. He groveled in front of the public and did everything except thrown himself on a sword.
This Repub scumbag refuses to leave. Along with every other Repub scumbag that has no sense of decency or morals.
Buh-bye!
Does this mean the GOP can now count a Confessed Felon among their ranks?
He should resign right after Charlie Rangel resigns. Unless he goes to jail, the people of his district re-elected even with these charges hanging over him.
He will be welcomed back with open arms just like David Vitter was (diaper excluding).
Even if GOP wants him to resign they can’t force him to. They would have to vote to expel him from the chamber, which they probably won’t do.
So he’ll just stick around as a perpetual embarassment to the party. And probably run again in '16.
I’m glad they forced Weiner out. Not for his “crime” but for lying about it.
As far as I know, they also welcomed back the diapers.
But his admitted crime is tax evasion, which makes him a Republican hero. He would be even more of a Republican hero if he flew an airplane into IRS offices or had a “militia” to attack federal authorities.
Did he underestimate receipts, or misunderestimate them?
