Discussion: Rep. Ellmers On Abortion Bill Scuffle: We're Just Going Through 'Growing Pains'

Discussion for article #232377

What is it with Republicans and their obsession with pregnancy and birthing?

Condi declaring Iraq chaos was the Birth Pangs of democracy.

This silly twit and her growing pains…?

Oh please, that was nothing more than crocodile tears from these two. They voted for the same provisions earlier without batting an eye, the hypocrites.

Stupid stupid female puppet who’s made it onto the government payroll. “Growing pains” instead of “we support for women and their right to choose their own reproductive choices.” But that would put her out of the running next time, wouldn’t it.

Shorter Ellmers: Guess we haven’t figured out yet how to get women to see rape as the gift of a precious life.

I just heard on the news the GOP just passed a bill that bans the public use of money for abortions. The public use of money for abortions has been banned since 1976, it’s called They Hyde Amendment, and this what they get out a bill that was supposed to be about banning abortions in cases of rape. A very bizarre twist of events. I don’t think
they know what they are doing at all

Did anyone suggest cutting open the chamber and removing the still viable bill???

The GOP caucus reminds me of “The Library: an Historical Romance,” a book by Richard Brautigan I read years ago. It was about a library that accepted, and put on its shelves, books by the insane and mentally unhinged.

Oh please TPM…enough of giving these political assholes and hypocrites cover. Whaaaaaah…but, but, but, we’re still growing.

Here’s what you should be fucking reporting on…

The Pukes passed an anti-abortion bill in the House anyhow. That’s what is important in the grand scheme of things when it comes to women’s health and reproductive rights. Not these wide-eyed women in the GOP that didn’t like one itsy-bitsy section in an already bad bill on “legitimate rape” as it applies to abortion. The GOP still managed to pass an anti-woman fucked-up bill to limit women’s rights.

Sorry about the HuffPo link. These poor widdle women in the GOP stories are just a complete distraction from the actual shit the party of numbnuts are trying to pull.

Well played!

Certainly explains why the entirety of the GOP/Teatroll army throws mindless hissy fits like hormonally imbalanced mid-pubescent tweens.

Stop, you’re killing me!

They couldn’t very well let the anniversary go by without spitting at it (and by extension, the Constitution), now could they?

Their only explanation was it was too soon to introduce it in a bill this early in the session, not that they objected to the provision.

The Stoopid DO vote–and people like Ellmers win elections as a result.

That is the political reality of the United States in the second decade of this Millennium.

That is as difficult to avert as it is to convince the distracted, non-Stoopid TO vote.

The first group is filled with fear, hate, ignorance and xenophobia.
The second group do what they do in ways I cannot explain.

So many people on this earth will never have an opportunity to vote for anything. People such as some I have known for most of my life. And here we have people awarded the opportunity, and choose not to.

Growing pains? This is one of the handful of bullshit issues the republican fucks repeatedly run through congress - and they still screw it up.
