Discussion: Rep. Darrell Issa: Poor Americans Are ‘The Envy Of The World’

Discussion for article #236159

Yes if you ask people from the Sudan, Bn]angladesh and other starving countries, I am sure they wouldn’t mind being poor americans if they could trade places.

This shit makes me want to vomit. This filthy rich criminal car thief is the scum of the earth

So Issa is saying he wishes he was poor?

Shorter Issa: “Those getting ass raped only twice a week are the envy of those getting ass raped hourly.”

Got it.

I would also add, that it is nice to know Issa wants the poor in Bangledesh and other underdeveloped country, to be the yardstick for American workers.

Compare apples to apples, Grand Theft Issa. How do our poor compare to the poor in Canada, Australia, Japan and Western Europe?

Well, you yammering baboon, it’s going to be difficult for you to convince them they’re not the victims of all those colored people taking their jobs if you’re telling them that they’ve got it made. The Kochs have got to be pissed.

So all of us Poors should just quit complaining, cause the Richies are doing a lot more for us than some coolie in China.

Not exactly. He wishes everyone but his true constituents were poor.

to rise from the have not

To see if the haves will rise we should nail a few to crosses, let’s start with Darrell…

Sure our wealth inequality is near the worst among industrialized nations, and a good portion of our political elite are dedicated to belittling, shaming, and controlling the poorest among us, but hey…at least we aren’t that shithole India!

This is the same line of thinking that defends torture by pointing out how horrifically the Taliban treats their captives. At least we ain’t that bad!

““America is the richest country on Earth because we’ve been able to put
capital together and we’ve been able to make our poor somewhat the envy
of the world,” Issa said.”

This statement makes no sense whatever. We are the richest nation BECAUSE our poor are envied?
In my early 30’s I was homeless and living out of pick-up truck. I doubt anyone, even someone in Bangladesh, would envy my condition then. There’s more to that period in my life that I’d really rather not recall. Issa, you are reprehensible.

Has he actually asked any foreign poor people if that is so?

“America is the richest country on earth because we’ve been able to put capital together.” …Don’t look now moron, but it takes labor to generate capital. Of course that’s irrelevant to a thief.

California Rep. Darrell Issa ® told CNN Money on Thursday that poor people in America are “somewhat the envy of the world."

Oh, Fuck You, Issa! This is America, not India or Bangladesh, etc. – you cannot compare their economic structures and/or cultural classes to us!!

I would love it if you would put on my shoes, walk through my life (say for a year) and emerge with that same holier-than-thou, pampered, thoroughly snotty attitude toward this very complex issue. On top of that, I’m a middle-aged white man (though poor as dirt), so my life is much better is some ways than other poor and/or disabled folks who share my income bracket.

Seriously, Mr. Issa, you either are a true clueless idiot through and through or an intentionally seriously offensive little (mindless) man. I sincerely wish you to become destitute, and very soon!

“…somewhat the envy…”

Oh, his lordship is much too kind.

“If you go to India or you go to any number of other Third World countries, you have two problems," he said. "You have greater inequality of income and wealth. You also have less opportunity for people to rise from the have not to the have.”

I count three things.

“You also have less opportunity for people to rise from the have not to the have.”

He continued: “What we need to do is build them a more robust insurance industry for them to defraud. We can even hold seminars on how to light shit on fire that you’ve only recently insured.”
