Yes, that part of our politics is so fringe that you won’t find it expressed anywhere except the internet, radio and TV, the Republican party, the NRA, newspaper editorial pages, public rallies and the Oval Office.
I don’t think it’s them who are the fringe. But I guess we’ll see, won’t we?
Does he know what “fringe” means?
Racism enabler laments racism he enabled. Story at 11.
“His bill, called Recognizing America’s Children Act,”
Obviously! Clearly, the Democrat President Darky’s “DACA” has to be replaced by the Republicans’ give-us-the-credit-instead “RACA”…that first letter says it all!
The Republican Party in now the right wing fringe of American politics.
America: 46% Fringe.
See, this is the problem. The Republican President of the United States, a good 10-25% of the Republican Congress (or more), many Republican state governors and Secs of State and legislators, etc. are all part of this “fringe” – they are the leadership, the powerful, the movers and shakers of the Republican Party.
The fringe on the left is not in power, is not even getting elected to town council much less to the White House. Our fringe wear scarves around their faces and only strike out when they are hit first, or spray graffiti on monuments.
I have no bleeping clue how “fringe” for the GOP means “leadership” while “fringe” for the Dems means “marginalized nobodies” yet “both sides” are blasted for their fringe.
Sorry, Congressman. You ARE the fringe whether you like it or not. Hey, if you don’t like it - switch parties! Now there’s a concept.
OT: I was just reading about how Texas has a 10 billion dollar “rainy day fund” that Abbott has sworn not to touch for recovery efforts. That’s right. No “spending down” for Texas, that proud state of non-takers!
from 538 (he might have a better chance of surviving this, than say Valadao.)
A group of well-known local Democrats will collect campaign cash later this month – for a Republican.
Miami Rep. Carlos Curbelo will attend an Aug. 23 fundraising reception hosted by nine Democrats, including former Miami Mayor Manny Diaz, Homestead Mayor Jeff Porter and Florida City Mayor Otis Wallace, according to an invitation to the event.
The sophomore congressman has campaigned as a moderate – an image that can only be bolstered with Democratic financial support. Among the Democrats co-hosting the fundraiser are Ira Leesfield, a major Hillary Clinton donor, and attorney Roland Sanchez-Medina. Last year, Sanchez-Medina served as campaign treasurer for Curbelo’s Democratic rival, Joe Garcia.
While the DACA announcement will upset this current apple cart, it somewhat helps Curbelo that he isn’t seen as a Trumpist,
Mr. Curbelo: Go to any of the right-wing commentary sites, and you will find that you are the one on the fringe. Immigrant bashing is part of the white resentment politics and it’s mainstream in the republican party, why do you think that Trump won the GOP nomination?
Fringe? You, as a Hispanic Republican, are fringe. The rest of the GOP are what they are, the mainstream.
… or to put it another way: The “fringe” has become the mainstream of the GOP.
All I can say is: Come on, Irma! Merde a Lago is a big fat juicy target.
About 24% of Americans self-identify as Republicans.
But almost 40% think Trump is doing a great job.
And the rest are obsessed with stealing their cheap, exploitable labor…
I know, but I’m counting everyone who voted for Trump as Fringe/Republican, including those too embarrassed to admit it.
