WH staff are now patiently explaining to the President that Rep Barbara Lee and Rep Maxine Waters are, in fact, two individuals and would he please stop calling “her” Rep Barbara Lee Waters.
This is a really positive development.
How old is she? Damn she is 72, but I guess that is a baby by Democratic leadership standards. They are getting as old as the politburo before the collapse of the Soviet Union.
I guess the question I would have for Rep. Lee is: What do you plan on doing differently than the current Democratic leadership? What strategy will you have to lead the Democratic effort not only in terms of the legislative agenda but in terms of the party’s need for a visible and above all effective public face?

Now, if Ms. Lee’s met with severe headwinds, then the “disarray” meme will be legit.
But, Hope prevails for now.
I remember those depressing days when the AUMF passed and she was the lone vote against it. The talking heads on cable were besides themselves “who is this woman? And of course “Berkeley!” In the back of my mind I thought “what if she is prescient years from now”. After 16 plus years of the longest war in US history sure seems like it.
Kind of makes me hope she gets an interview with Barbara Walters.

This is exactly the kind of candidate I can get behind for managing the Dems in the House. She’s been in the House since 1998, so she isn’t completely corrupted or settled in deeply in the House, but she’s been there long enough to know how things work.
She’s right - it would be great to have a minority and a woman running the House Caucus. If it doesn’t work for her as the leader, may be along with Linda Sanchez, we can get a full diversified representation.
This is just what the doctor ordered, in my opinion. Bring it!!!

Oh, wouldn’t that just make heads explode - whether it’s Sanchez or Lee.
Once certain users get past the Pelosi’s gotta go shit, they’ll learn Lee and Pelosi have been talking about this and Pelosi is okay with it. She’s neither deaf nor blind, certainly not dumb. I love the idea that the leadership post will still be here on the left coast
