Keep on keeping on, Harry! Fight those obstreperous unConstitutionalist placeholders!

Excellent. I keep fearing the GOP Senators will come to their senses and decide to appear to do the right thing before finding the candidate deficient in blah blah blah. A comment like this double dares them to be hypocritical.

If he wanted to be accurate he would’ve included “racist.”

Might need this Harry —

Yes, their strategy could not have been any worse. Had they just smiled and said, Mr. President, please send up your nominee(s) and we’ll review same, they could have taken all kinds of time and ways to, as Nancy Reagan said, “just say no”. But noooooo, they had to trumpet (oh, bad pun) the fact that they didn’t even want to do that. Nope, they had to stick it to Obama even more by saying don’t even send a candidate.

What’s really odd here is that I don’t think they garnered any more votes at all (for incumbent Republican senators) with this strategy. Instead, this idea has already backfired badly since, and primarily related to Trump’s campaign, McTurtle has green-lighted those same senators to step away from Trump and even oppose him. Today, more than one source has already declared the loss of the Senate due to their intransigence on the SC judge issue with major editorials calling them out. It now just doesn’t make any sense to overtly block all nominees since one would think any steps to retain the Republican advantage would apply.

Strategy-wise, thank God we had two Democratic presidents in FDR and Truman during WWII. Had they been Republicans employing the same strategy as McTurtle, we’d all be speaking…German!

All the way in Seattle, I can hear the panic-stricken voices. “Guys, we are in serious trouble. The Democrats are pulling out the heavy artillery. They are going start, I can hardly say the word, ‘harping’ on us. Please, for the love of God, let’s just stop now and return to our constitutional duties. Once they start harping, this is gonna be over for us.”

Honestly, harping. Well, not even harping. Threats to start the harping and then continue it. Have they no mercy? More to the point, have they no guts to quit yammering and start taking action? You are not having a conversation or a debate. You are dealing with concerted action or inaction. Do something.
