I’m going to miss Harry…
I’m sure that if the GOP keeps control of the House, they will have a full investigation of what FBI agents did during the close of this election.
This letter is as bad as the other letter. The issue had been litigated, and all this letter does is bring it up again and make people talk about it.
I agree that Comey damaged Democrats’ election chances with his stunt, but I’m wondering if there will be political payoff for Hillary after the election. I think almost any reasonable observer would now see her as the victim of targeted, unfair attacks----attacks from a government agency which had no business interfering before the election.
Maybe she ends up the bigger winner, politically, after all is said and done.
It’s possible Comey had no choice. Apparently the FBI’s New York office is more or less a rogue operation with regards to leaks–other offices are afraid to bring them in on cases, because previously secure information will hit the wires.
GM had a situation like this with the Detroit world headquarters. A new boss moved into the Warren Tech Center and brought in the people he needed, leaving the building on West Grand Blvd. full of drones. It was actually less trouble that way than firing them.
I doubt the FBI has the institutional will to set up a similar solution.
Well, the rogues can’t claim whistleblower protections can they? It will be interesting to see if there is some reassignments.
The day before the election, WTF man. The FBI needs to be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.
“Agent Smith, we need your unique expertise in the field office in East Jesus, Iowa.”
I dunno. I kind of think she has been the target of unfair bullshit investigation since it became clear she was going to run for President again after running State. The Media has gone along and has been very late to come to the conclusion that Comey’s letter was a clear hit job. If the Media was anything but asleep, every step of all of the email investigating would have been reported with a qualifier about how the GWB Administration used a private email server at the RNC and tried to delete 22M emails. Every single story would have included that, and the avoid FOIA email practices of GOP Governors Walker, Bush, Palin. And the email practices of Colin Powell and Condoleeza Rice. But now everyone is going to come around and say gee enough. Chaiffetz and Company have already crowed how they are going to continue their fishing expedition witch hunts.
No matter how I look at it Comey’s got to go. I’m getting tired of listening to pundits make excuses for him. There’s and old saying that if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck and looks like a duck then it’s a duck. Comey 100% was using his office to affect the election on the GOP side. President Obama needs to ask for his resignation after the election and if he doesn’t then Hillary needs to if she is elected. If she doesn’t then I expect him to use his office to undermine her at every turn.
Ninety years of FBI reputation just got cashed out. For nothing.
Mission Accomplished!
You’re far too kind. The media has been relentless in it’s false equivalency and very awake and aware of ways to manipulate the narrative to keep a nonstory going to boost their ratings.
I’ve always thought it the duty of all responsible adults to keep up with what is happening in the world. For decades I have watched the local and national evening news on most nights.
Now I can’t force myself to watch any of it. In some case (ctodd comes to mind) I feel physically ill just seeing these poseurs.
I’m now relying on a few trusted sites (and some I trust and verify) for my news. It’s a short list and any suggestions would be appreciated. (My new favorite is Media Matters.)
I agree with you on Chuck Todd. He is a perfect example of The Peter Principle and someone being promoted to beyond his level of competency to a level where he fancies himself an opinion maker. And he is a smug, middlebrow doofus.
I used to watch CNN when Ted Turner owned it, there was a moment when it was almost the shining equivalent of one of the European TV news services (TVEspanola or RAI quality) and had excellent international and foreign news. When Al Jezeera USA was operating I would watch them. Too bad they did not make it as a long term thing. Even some of their USA news anchors were bad, but the USA needs foreign in depth news reporting we are so provincial and uninformed about other countries’ events and attitudes.
