Putin says he’s not assisting the insurgents then he shouldn’t have any objections to a mercy mission to secure that crash site for investigators to collect the remains.

Oh man–it’s obvious that the Ukrainian secret police have been traveling to Malaysia, the Netherlands and Australia, and robbing mortuaries. They then book tickets on the flight, and smuggled the dead passengers on board using some subterfuge that only secret police understand, and the plane took off with two dead pilots in the cockpit. Then Ukrainian military shot down the plane, forged a couple of voice recordings of phone calls to Russian Intelligence service, and blamed the whole thing on a few pro-Russian goons.
That is the only way to make sense out of Girkin’s claims. Why would anybody believe anything said by somebody named after a pickle?
