Discussion: READ: William Barr's Memo Bashing Robert Mueller's Obstruction Probe

Now we just need to know who paid him to write this “intervention” without, as he admits, knowing the facts.

Slow learners, oblivious to history. If you’re not sure about what’s happening out of your line of sight, the smart move is to dummy up. Otherwise you end up like the passionate Nixon defenders who, when the truth finally came out, looked like clueless idiots.

Writes this thing without knowing the facts? Perfect Trump administration nominee. Let’s guess there may be some pointed questioning of Mr. Barr during the confirmation process (which, by the way, just became less of a sure thing).

Mr. Barr, a clueless idiot for our times.

It really needs to be the first bullet on your resumé if you want a position in the Trump administration.

Because of course he did, that is why he is AG pick. At this stage of the WH, we know Trump’s choice is the most criminally forward choice.

There is wraithing and there is criminal conduct wraithing. We are definitely at the criminal conduct wraithing stage here.

Advertisement should read: Come all ye and apply to a WH position that seek to serve jail time.

I’d say the cat is out of the bag at this point, especially with Putin’s personal thanking of “Donald,” for withdrawing troops. Barr, even if confirmed, cannot do anything at this point. Trump’s days are numbered and Vlad is just twisting the knife.

Barr offers an opinion while confessing that he is “in the dark about many facts, but hopes my views may be useful?” I would call that disqualifying in every respect to be AG.

If we accept that Flynn committed a bit of light treason, why was the President asking the FBI Director to “let it go”?

Barr has no credibility. Any member of the US Congress supporting for AG, in current circumstances and having read his ‘memo’, would be truly clueless (or a willing party to a corrupt practice).

This was a written audition for the job which he knew would go vacant sooner than later.

Just being announced that the ethics people at the DoJ decided that Whitaker did not have to recuse from the Mueller investigation and is overseeing it. People thought that was the case, but it has now been confirmed.

Barr wrote this ~6 months ago. Seems that the premise that Barr is basing his argument on is that Trump is not guilty of any crime and therefore, he can’t be guilty of obstruction.

Most people (nearly all GOPers) assumed that Trump had not committed any crimes 6 months ago. If Barr, 6 months later, and after the Cohen sentencing and Flynn’s attempted sentencing, and after the coming Stone and Corsi indictments/plea deals/sentencing is still “certain” that Trump is innocent, he is unfit to be AG.

At the very least he’ll have to recuse himself on Mueller/Russia.

I’d be more alarmed if I didn’t know that some serious oversight was on the horizon.

Read the last paragraph or two of Barr’s memo. He seems to already setting up a rebuttal to any criticism.

Also, on Whitaker’s non-recusal:
