How about a little respect for the family? Anyone? Anyone?

Sounds he was one of the best of us. His strength, attitude and courage under unspeakable conditions is truly inspiring.

When we catch his murderer - and we will - this letter should be framed in his cell under unbreakable glass, so he can read it every day for the rest of his miserable, cruel life.

I’m weeping right now. This is so incredibly heartbreaking, but I’m so glad his family shared this little piece of him with us. I don’t consider myself a vengeful woman, but there is a side of me that would like to see his killers suffer for what they did.

Power of Christ at work with Mr. Foley. The man died for his faith and country. Everyone should read his letter about praying the Holy Rosary!

I sure wish I could read it! There’s just white space there, no link or icon or anything at all… :frowning:

I have the same problem with Firefox, but with Safari everything is fine

I have the same problem if I use Internet Explorer to view this website. You have to use google to view what is in the white spaces on talkingpointsmemo.com. I have no idea why except I did not have this problem until this website changed over to whatever they are using now.

When we catch this worthless piece of shit, we should decapitate him, wrap him in pigskin, and bury him upside down with his feet facing Mecca. You can’t do worse to one of these Mohammedan scum. (They’re not Moslems, these Fundamentalist scum are Mohammedans)

Who do you think released the letter?

That would make us no better than the low-life perpetrators and would certainly disrespect the memory of Mr. Foley and any other victims of this barbarity.

Wow. You do see that your response is not even one degree less barbarous than he behavior you otherwise rightly condemn? Don’t you?

I just read it on Firefox. And wept.

Beautiful letter. Elemental. Mr. Foley was martyred and is a saint.

I kind of like what happened at the end of James Clavell’s Shogun. The offending war lord was buried to his neck on a beach where peasants could come by and carve on his neck and head with a small wood saw. And the sand crabs feasted on his torn skin.

An fortune teller had foretold that he would die a very old man,

And he did.
