Saw this response on Free Republic
Hannity reports he hears the FBI/DOJ dox just released to the House - which not a SINGLE DEM voted to release - are “devastating” & should result in the “immediate firing” of McCabe, Ohr, Strzok, ROSENSTEIN aaaaaaand MUELLER. He named them ALL.

They wish of course

DiFi has set something in motion. Good.

It cannot be repeated enough, that it was republican oppo research that started this thing; Dems just ran with the ball. This is the same GOP idiocy they pulled with ACA; Heritage Foundation created what became the ACA (in MA at the request of Mittens). How do the Dems let this stuff slip away. Remind the world every day that the GOP paid for the dossier.

Am I jonesin’ so badly for Russia news that this seems like it should be a big deal?

Is this a document that Devin Nunes will also read?

Because he really should.

And this…

Simpson and his firm Fusion GPS have had a much more hostile relationship, at least publicly, with the House committee than it has had with the Senate panels that are probing Trump’s Russia ties. At one point in October, the firm’s lawyers released a letter accusing House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes of “unprofessional conduct.” Later, Fusion GPS even brought a legal challenge to block the House Intelligence Committee’s move to subpoena its bank records — though a judge ruled in the committee’s favor, allowing the subpoena to stand.

Imagine that :smirk:

Yeah really people bitch about Donald changing his mind 180 but Republicans did the same thing when he won the R nomination.

Reading now, but on difference is that it is the reps themselves , not their investigative staff asking the questions.
ETA: They have redacted out their staff’s names. So when someone get hardnose about threats regarding non-answered questions, you can’t tell who it was.

…And I’ll just say that the witness is reminded that he may refuse to
answer a question only to preserve a testimonial privilege. Neither the U.S.
House of Representatives nor the committee recognizes any purported
nondisclosure privileges associated with common law, Including attorney-client
privilege, attorney work product protections; and neither the U.S. House of
Representatives or the committee recognizes any purported contractt1al privileges,
including those supposedly deriving from nondisclosure agreements.

Can’t say much about what you’re “jonesin’ so badly for” but if the NRA used foreign money to fund its electioneering at home, that’s a problem.

but if the witness does choose to not answer questions …

We’d just like him to know that the Republicans who are controlling this sham … are OK with it ----

Gowdy trying to establish that !!! Hillary paid for Dodgy Dossier!!!

MR. GOWDY: Now, help me understand this. Would that payment for
Steele have been expensed to the law firm, or would Fusion have paid that out of
its own money that it received from the law firm?
MR. SIMPSON: I believe, at least if things were running the way I hope
they ran, it was expensed to the law finn.
MR. GOWDY: So Perkins Coie paid Chris Steele?
MR. SIMPSON: I think it was --1 mean, I think we billed them for it.

Why stop here? Everything that makes Republicans look bad in any way is cast as a liberal conspiracy. Not only was lifelong Republican Comey turned into a liberal patsy for not pledging loyalty to Trump, but the entire FBI is now considered part of the liberal conspiracy to overthrow Trump while covering for Crooked Hillary. Chris Christie was lambasted just for being nice to Obama during a Hurricane Sandy photo-op. The Dixie Chicks were enemies of the state for saying they were embarrassed of Bush. Honestly, I could spend all day talking about the contortions these people take to destroy anyone who isn’t 100% loyal to the team.

As for why Democrats let them get away with it, who’s letting them? There is no leftwing equivalent of the rightwing noise machine. The legit media usually treats everything as a “he said/she said” once Republicans start ranting and consider it the Democrats job to push back. But rightwing propaganda is being funded by billionaires with Fox News at the top of the pyramid. It’s like trying to talk in a hurricane and asking why we’re not screaming loud enough to stop it.

Let s remember it was the never trumpers , hi JEB that FIRST paid for the dossier…not HRCs campaign. Also by this time the trump camp was already under investigation. Cant wait till the GOP loses its house majority and who knows maybe the senate since it rides on such a smaller margin…hey a girl can dream…

Meanwhile, Jason Leopold & Anthony Cormier report:

US authorities are poring over hundreds of newly uncovered payments from Russian diplomatic accounts. Among them are transactions by former ambassador Sergey Kislyak 10 days after the 2016 presidential election and a blocked $150,000 cash withdrawal five days after the inauguration.

So, the other part of your question… No, this is a HOUSE hearing. DiFi released transcripts of a SENATE hearing.

It doesn’t matter who funded the research first. The whole issue is a distraction. The better argument is that the Steele Dossier didn’t come out until January 2017. So if this was all part of Crooked Hillary and the FBI’s plan to overthrow Trump…why did they wait until after the election when it was too late; instead of doing it before the election?

After all, impeachment doesn’t get us Hillary; it gets us Pence or another Republican puppet. And if it’s fake, it would have DEFINITELY been better to release before the election, like the day after the Comey letter came out when everyone was obsessed with Hillary’s emails again. That way, it wouldn’t get debunked until it was too late and would have distracted everyone from the stuff that most likely tipped the election away from Hillary.

I’ve mentioned this to Trumpers and the only argument I’ve gotten is that impeaching Trump will undermine Republican power by making them look bad; but that’s pretty weak tea seeing as how she could have released it before the election if that was the point. Nothing about this conspiracy makes sense, so talking about who funded it first doesn’t matter.
