The chances of either Republican organization complying with her request are less than zero. Those organizations have demonstrated just how low they will go by using the information in the first place. Releasing somebody’s social, that should disqualify anyone from voting for their chosen candidate. Isn’t it Bratt?
She’s going to beat them like a rug, eventually
Yes Dave Bratt
Don’t worry, the USPS has apologized and asked for the information back from the two conservative groups. I’m sure they’ll comply and not continue circulating her personal information. These are honorable men. That plus the apology should suffice. Right? right?
Has Congresscritter Brat made any statement about this other than “It wasn’t me”?
The only answer to the republicans is lawsuits, and more lawsuits. Rather than focusing on impeachment big doners (that is you Steyer) should be paying lawyers. Put everyone connected to this under oath and see who squeals like a stuck pig.
She must be lighting up like a bonfire on Lifelock, as the GOP commits massive identity theft on her…
I also think the statement suggested that a few other requests may have been made (and released) around the same time. Sounds like it was a small number, but this is not an isolated situation. How much do you want to guess that they are not proactively warning the other individuals whose security clearance forms were released in full unredacted form?
I look forward to her suing these PACs for gazillions of dollars.
She should sue the pants off of all of them and make a HUGE story about how Trump leaked classified information for political purposes. Literally just keep screaming about it until someone picks it up.
Republican operatives are disseminating the confidential information of someone who is completely innocent of any wrongdoing. Someone who was violated by liars and cheats who may do “business” like Donald Trump.
The Republican Party is a danger to the nation.
What those traitors are doing should be a felony with mandatory prison time. No political nobody or other has a legitimate use for anyone’s Social Security number.
That’s my question, too. The information was obtained for the purpose of helping David Brat. Everything about obtaining and releasing and circulating this information is toxic for him. The longer he stays silent, the worse it gets for him. He is going to lose this election.
Until there are criminal charges, everything being said sounds like a coverup. Bratt is a disgrace, like his patron Trump.
The question is what happens when the GOP groups either ignore or laugh at the post office’s request to return the documents. Courts have typically ruled that people who get sensitive information improperly have to give it back, with exceptions for journalists, which these are not. If the USPS follows up as quickly as they have so far, there could be a court order sometime before election day, which tends not to look good.
Honestly I can’t imagine that it isn’t.
Nobody, and I mean nobody, had access to that information without knowing full well that those files were confidential and private, and that you can’t just hand them out to anyone who asks, inside the agency or out.
Invasion of privacy should be a slam dunk. Public disclosure of private facts. In spades. And Trumps.
