Discussion: Rasmussen: Wendy Davis Trails GOP Opponent By Single Digits Now

Discussion for article #226160

I have to mail her another $100 and we need to pound on Abbott about how he got so much money for his accident, and then the new “tort reform” he helped pass would have cut a person’s money for the very same incident by two thirds. Talk about someone with the “I’ve got mine” mentality.

A bright sign, but still a long way to go.

It is a glimmer of hope but it is better than where we have been at. Actually, I think that the Religious Right is actually getting conflicted over the extreme of the right. A lot of churches are speaking out about the immigration issue–in a way that is causing angst amongst conservative evangelicals. And the Ebola scare is another hotbed for the Right. Church of Christ and Southern Baptist are two of the most popular denominations in conservative Texas. Both are big in missionary work. Dr. Brantly is Church of Christ. Ann Coulter and Donald Trump’s comments have not been well received by my Church of Christ friends.

If this is what Rassmussen shows, Davis is less than 5 points behind Abbott.

I’d love to be more positive about this poll, but there isn’t much to excite. Davis’ support is essentially the same (certainly within the margin of error) and Abbott’s is down slightly (albeit below the critical 50% line). But, the longest journey starts with a single step. Massive voter turnout will be the key.

Thanks for the report on the ground. Interesting.

rollin on the river…

heh, hulkSmash’m Wendy.

All that means is Davis is winning by about 4 points.

She has a pretty hard hitting ad that just came out today. http://youtu.be/EV3aMuXsOVQ I’m really rooting for her to win this election. Come on Texas, do the right thing!

Perry beat Bill White 55-42 in 2010. Wendy has a lot of ground left to make up to even make it close

Another point to pound and keep in the light is the approximately $100,000. donation Abbott received from a Koch son who has chemical fertilizer companies in Texas. Abbott obediently complied with the koch wishes and immediately proceeded to ban reports on the chemicals being stored near homes and businesses. Rachel reported extensively on this in July, and if you’re in Texas perhaps you read this.

Thanks! Great ad, I think she has a chance but people who have been trampled in Texas for too damn long are gonna have to get seriously angry. And turn out.

This should translate into a wonderful ad for Ms. Davis. I have two more avenues left to donate to her, just waiting for the right time to pull the trigger so to speak,

That’s your upper lip. Not really fool, you don’t stink that bad.

Abbot is such a tool. Davis would get Texas straight in an Austin minute and like Obamacare, the crazies would secretly enjoy it.

Democrats are raising serious money here. Ads are up and running on television. We haven’t seen this in years in Texas. If she loses by single digits Hillary will dump money on this state like never seen before. I can’t wait!

what does nate silver have to say?

rasmussen is no longer credible.

I think you know perfectly well which way Rasmussen tends to skew and what it means when they say a Democratic candidate is close to a Republican. For the umpteenth time, you trolls can’t just assert stuff you wish were true and have it believed here.

Eight points is a decent number to be behind at this point. However, making up the rest of the deficit will be very hard, especially in and off-year election. Davis will need help from Abbot if she is to have a chance. I don’t know how well voter registration of eligible Hispanics is going. I doubt she wins but I am pulling for her.
