Our elections get a lot of flack- rightly so, in most instances- about the length and money involved. I think one thing that the extended election season does well is expose all the phonies. Rand Paul has been outed as being just another opportunist, not some libertarian savior of the party.
I wonder how much longer McConnell is willing to suffer this little shit before he finally slaps him down and reminds him whoâs really in charge.
He has largely stayed out of the negotiations that Paul has been doing with the state party, hasnât he? For whatever the reasons, McConnell and Paul are still roughly respecting their truce. Notice that Paul is dancing around the question of supporting McConnell as Majority LeaderâŚwhich he already did when it mattered back in '15.
I also liked this lineâŚâAnd I use every bit of my arguing power to say, we should put the appropriations bills forward, all 12 of them, one at a time, and make the Democrats filibuster.â
Those are the 12 appropriations bill that the GOP has not lifted a finger on through out the year. They are all late. And Paul has not said âbooâ once the entire year about moving them forward in order to execute his strategy. Nobody has.
What is largely being ignored right now, is the GOP is trying to manufacture a crisis to hide the fact that they simply havenât been doing their jobs all year, even though they control both Houses.
Rand is such a coy boy.
Early in his candidacy,Paul tried to get some mainstream GOP support and it didnât really pan out. After seeing what happened when Boehner announced his resignation last week,Rand knows he canât go back there now.
Donât worry.
When it happens, Rand likely wonât see it coming.
Whatâs all this fuss about about a goy boy? Never mind.
"What I would say is that I support the position we have to use the power of the purse.
That much is trueâŚ
And I use every bit of my arguing power to say, we should put the appropriations bills forward, all 12 of them, one at a time, and make the Democrats filibuster.
So two days before the lights go off, heâs still discussing a way to run out time on the clock.
If theyâre willing to filibuster and government shuts down, we should then say, it is Democrats who have shut down the government," Paul responded, adding that he opposes a temporary funding bill that would include funding for Planned Parenthood.
and when a reporter reminds you about the Democratic partyâs position (clean bills) is restated AHHHGAIN, what will be your answer then?
Two more daysâŚ

Itâll be must easier after this upcoming humiliation when the primary voting starts. Heâll have no juice. Has anyone run his reelection numbers for Senator? Iâd like to see some of those.
Well⌠Rand is âsquisheyâ⌠this is not news
Rand is also running in KY for his second term as Senator too. And he may feel that he canât alienate too many Kentucky Republicans right now. This is especially true since Kim Davis just recently became a Republican. That little tidbit of news made me wonder if she did this in anticipation of filing to run for U.S. Senate against Rand?? If so⌠I wonder if Rand has bothered to keep his CME credits up to date so he can reopen his medical practice?
âThey seemed to preemptively announce, âWeâre defeated. We canât do anything.â And the grassroots is frustrated with that,â Paul said.
Because the Republican grassroots are fucking morons who apparently donât understand math, the realities of divided government or how the Senate gives a lot of power to the minority party.
It is time for McConnell to resign from the Senate and retire.
It is interesting that he said> âWeâre defeated. We canât do anything.â` When trying to describe the thought process of the leadershipâŚ
The Lexington Herald Leader put up a piece on Friday saying there is a death watch in place looking at the Paul presidential campaign. They also mentioned that Paul had not even put up his 15,000 filing fee to register as a candidate for president to get his name on the ballot for the Kentucky caucuses. (yet Jeb Bush has already registered.) Makes you wonder if the Paul campaign knows how it feels to be â⌠defeated, We canât do anythingâ. Previously the paper had reported that Paul agreed to put a down payment of 250,000 and an IOU for up to 200,000 more to pay for his state party to hold the aforementioned presidential caucuses instead of a primary. I am thinking that Paul is hearing the âfootstepsâ of imminent defeat and might be wondering where he is going to get the additional 200K that he pledged to his home state party.
