Discussion for article #225761
Did anyone else see this interview? I would be interested in your responses. Rand Paul sounded reasonable until this point of the interview. The bill he and Cory Booker are working on is a needed one, and I am all for bipartisan governing, but the Paul/Booker camaraderie seemed so phony and forced that I was turned off.
I know what I heard when he was interviewed by Rachel Maddow. There was no Gotcha. It was a straight forward interview. No matter, how he tries to deny it, no matter what type of legislation he co-sponsors with Corey Booker will change his Ayn Rand libertarian religion he has espoused. Heās Ron Paulās son!!! Apple donāt fall far from the tree.
This begs the question. Can Rand Paul name one media outlet that he believes ādoes 24-hour news telling the truthā?
The answer might be enlightening. Please, Senator. Weāre all seeking the truth. Can you point us to the appropriate venue?
Straight outta the Newt Gingrich playbook : āand if anybody quotes me word for word, theyāre a f*@&ing liarā ! ! ! !
and it would have been great if he had been asked that question (tactfully phrased, of course) . .
Claims to care more about voting rights for black people than John Lewis. Demands that everyone else tells the truth.
Being a libertarian must be so liberating. You can pretty much say and do anything you want, and yet still feel morally superior to people that abide by logic and basic community standards.
Isnāt that fresh?
Since he was in the process of lying about what he said way back in the 2010 Rachel Maddow interview, heās presented MSNBC with a sort of a Catch-22: How can the network commit itself to truthfulness in order to put a liar on as a guest?
NEWS FLASH! ATTENTION GOP
MSNBC only cable news outlet to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
Interesting comments from a man that was caught plagiarizing most of his speeches not that long ago.
Rand Paul, a bigger advocate for black peopleās voting rights than John Lewis.
Rand Paul, promoting federalism to allow Texas greater freedom to make the criminal justice system more fair at the state level.
Rand Paul, getting drones out of the hands of the federal government and into the hands of private security forces where they belong.
Rand Paul, defender of 24-hour truth telling.
Letās roll the footage, shall we? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZfqdJieNTM
Paul thinks since heās a gop/bagger senator no one should dare challenge his lies and deceits and fraudulent comments. Heās openly criticized the president and called him a liar on everything from ACA to Zero immigration. Paul is the top bald faced lair in Congress and needs to be exposed for what he truly is.
I remember when Rand Paul was running for the senate. He went on the Rachel Meadow show and said he did not think he would have supported the1964 Civil Rights bill. He also thought that businesses should be allowed to serve who they wanted. It sounds like Jim Crow to me. Rand Paul is a liar.
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said he had no interest in talking about his position on the Civil Rights Act.
Fair enough. I heard his interview with Rachel Maddow and I have all the information I need on Mr. Paulās stance on civil rights. As to whether or not he discusses this any further on MSNBC, this self-serving, plagiarizing, squirrel coiffed, animated anus must be mistaking THIS audience member for someone who gives a shit.
Forget about his stance on the Civil Rights Act, ask him about his desire to āAudit the Fedā and then stand back and watch.
You are correct to be skeptical of Rand Paulās positions - and your reasons are right on point. I worry about him as a candidate because I fear that young people relate to some of his libertarian ideas (especially on decriminalizing drugs). In this interview, I can see him targeting minority voters. These voters, I think and hope, arenāt that naive - and showing his 2010 interview with Rachel Maddow will highlight the āreal Rand.ā
GOLD! WEED! AQUABUDDHA!!
(damn that felt goodā¦havenāt done that for a while)
Rand Paul is a fraud and Booker needs to stay as far away from this liar as possible. I too saw the Rachel Maddow interview and it was quite clear where Paul stood. Comparing himself to John Lewis is a joke. And why is it that Paul seems to care more about voting rights for people who were in jail than he does for those of us African Americans who have never been arrested? While what he and Booker are trying to do is commendable, I would never vote for this snake oil salesman. My guess is that he thinks this will go down easier with the teabaggers than, say voting for a minimum wage increase or restoring unemployment insurance. If Rand Paul thinks heās reaching out to African Americans, his wig is way too tight!
