So if I refuse to pay my income tax for long enough, will Rand go to bat for me and get the Feds to drop my rate to 6.5%? I mean, if the option is that the feds get nothing or 6.5%, any rational person would agree that 6.5% is a better deal for the government.

These politicians act like that because the “liberal” media is so scared they won’t come back on the show. Chuck “It’s Not My Job” Todd admitted as much on one of his shows. And I could be wrong, but it seems like the media lets members of the GOP get away with it a lot more. These news shows are so desperate for ratings and for these Congress people to say the most incendiary and buzz-worthy things that they will bend over backwards to accommodate them. This means allowing them to say whatever they want, however they want, without question or pushback. Paul knows it, which is why he was acting like an ass towards the interviewer.
She probably got a stern talkin to at the conclusion of the show and was directed to apologize to Paul for not knowin’ her place. .
“I will certainly try my best, senator. We hope you will come back and give us that chance,” Evans said.

They should be, but aren’t, because the media now exists to provide a microphone and nothing else.
Any outlets that might follow up and put a politician in an uncomfortable spot just get shunned.
And think of the many many people who will be hurt by this dysfunctional relationship.

When people say they’re worried Rand Paul could be a contender in a presidential general election, I just have to laugh and think of moments like these. Paul is one of the most thin-skinned, impatient, and irritable assholes in the Senate. I can’t say I even know of anyone else who is so easily bristled by the mildest of criticism. Even McCain is more restrained. The truly hilarious part is that this is his reaction when challenged from his right by someone who agrees with his premise, how is he going to handle being challenged from the left and with actual facts? If he’s the nominee, I won’t be surprised if there is an epic on-stage meltdown. Actually, I will be surprised if there isn’t one.

I have an ongoing list in my head of the political ads that could be created using his own words and actions that could be used to devastate any campaign he’s thinking about running. It gets longer and longer each time he makes a public appearance.

I kind of admire the anchor for not calling him out as a patronizing twat when he shushed her. I lost that admiration when she apologized for the fact that may have been responsible for his being fired up. . .

also describes the governor of New Jersey to a tee. Is there any record of Jebby exploding after being questioned because then we’d have a trifecta of the more or less front runners acting stupid while campaigning. Hate to go all outraged feminist here, but this is what these guys do, they disrespect women, and do it so blithely because they always have.
