Discussion for article #242118

Wow, he “gets the anger”.

That’s very white of you, Rand.

So, Senator Rand, you would oppose Dr Carson’s plan to turn the Department of Education into a federal agency to monitor speech on college campuses?

““When I think of his classmates in high school or his family, I think, 'Gosh, if I was his friend, I’d be really unhappy and angry at the system, at ‘the man.’ I am starting to understand where the anger comes from, and that we need to fix things as far as the law and criminal justice in our system, because it isn’t being meted out fairly,” Paul said.”

Wow. This makes RP the leading GOP Civil Rights advocate whitesplainer person.

“Well, I’m not a big fan of, sort of, ‘Black Lives Matter’ because I think it sounds like only black lives matter,” Paul said Friday

Well, I guess it does sound that way to a moron. Any thinking person realizes that saying one thing matters doesn’t somehow mean that something else doesn’t matter. If your doctor tells you that exercise matters, it doesn’t somehow mean you can stop brushing your teeth and washing your ass.

“I still think black people want free stuff,” Mr. Paul later added.

Just so. He might try listening to the president’s eloquent explanation the other day of why “all lives matter” is, while inherently undeniable, an evasion in this context (i.e., while all lives matter, not all lives are under equal threat).

I have to admit, I’m a little surprised how many people are betraying their prejudice – by simply omitting [TOO], which is historically implied for anyone who isn’t a bigot.

It took that story for a white guy to realize black folks get treated like shit? He’s either an idiot a liar…hummmm actually I think he’s both…

BLM to RP: The feeling is mutual.

This this mean that he doesn’t want to repeal the part of the Civil Rights Act that offers protections for Black people?

“Well, I’m not a big fan of, sort of, ‘Black Lives Matter’ because I think it sounds like only black lives matter,” Paul said Friday on the Fox News show “Outnumbered.”

Anyone who says this shows immediately that they are stupid. It clearly and unequivocally does not imply that only black lives matter.

Let’s be honest. It really is the suggestion that white lives don’t matter more than black lives that gets them in such a collective mass panty twist. The reality distortion field most white people construct to keep them from acknowledging and dealing (regularly, and for the rest of their lives, really) with the unquestioned assumptions about the world and their place in that constitute most “racism” in 21st century America makes them process it as a claim that black lives matter more than white lives.

Because, honestly, a person would have to be a total racist asshole to get mad at the thought that black lives matter as much as white lives, right? And they’re not total racist assholes, therefore Those People must be claiming that their lives matter more than white lives. It just stands to reason. It’s obvious that’s what They mean. You know how They are.

You know what? Coming from a Republican, I’ll take it and look past the silliness about the BLM name. Now if he’ll actually work to make the criminal justice fairer and more color-blind, I’ll actually be impressed.

He means THIS kind of anger

Frankly, you unlicensed asshole, the BLM revolution doesn’t give a damn if your a fan of theirs or not. It’s not like they need your approval in the first place. 2ndly, if only Afrikan-Murikan lives matter then the name would’ve been Only Black Lives Matter. Anyway, when the kops start killing the other races at a record’s pace, then their lives will matter. You need to be paying more attention to your anemic presidential campaign then worrying about the BLM group
