Discussion: Rand Paul: I've Been 'Testy' With Male And Female Reporters

Please tell that comment was sarcasm.

Ah, but of course each of the clips will be ā€œtaken out of context.ā€

Maybe we can get Christie to coach him.

If anyone had told me ten years ago that Katie Couric and Savannah Guthrie were going to be the pit bulls that brought down ā€œmajorā€ (because you see them everywhere and all the press clamor to publish everything they say and do) candidates for President, I would have laughed. Not anymore.

Perhaps Rand Paul thinks he’s cute enough to get away with Sarah Palin’s ploy during her only debate, when she told the moderator she wouldn’t be answering the questions she is asked but just saying whatever she wants. She wasn’t. And neither is he. Isn’t anybody close to him embarrassed for him?

No kidding. Would love to be a fly on that wall.

Is Ted Cruz paying off Rand Paul to make him look better?

He has a long way to go to get to Newt territory though. Where if you quote him, you are lying.

Seems like in his private lexicon, ā€œeditorializingā€ means ā€œasking me a pretty obvious question I nevertheless hadn’t anticipated or prepared for because I suck at this.ā€

ā€œI’m an asshole with both male and female reporters.ā€
Rand Paul

Fixed that for ya’, Randy.

Rand’s personality is typical of doctors. How dare anyone question them!

Particularly the self-certifying kind.

English is a second language to me. Can someone tell me the meaning of the verb…

ā€œto editorializeā€?

Does it mean act like an editor? Cutting copy, adjusting deadlines sending reporters on assignments and such. If that is the case, neither of the individuals with whom Rand Paul was angry acted like Perry White.

Paul said if he’s been interviewed by someone who’s editorializing "you feel somewhat at a loss on the other end.

And this guy that ā€œfeel[s] somewhat at a lossā€ when dealing with an interview where his dick isn’t getting sucked wants the American people to trust him with the power to press the button?

Anger management issues.

Just the sort of person we DO NOT WANT HAVING ACCESS TO THE NUCLEAR LAUNCH CODES!!!

They might as well have, because if I remember correctly Perry White mostly pounded his fists on his desk and bellowed ā€œReport to the cashier! YOU’RE FIRED!ā€ Which is pretty much Rand’s situation.

O.T. I know, but there isn’t any other place to put this:

Does it bother anyone else that TPM has an advertisement on its site for TransCanada formatted like an article? Granted, it does say ā€œSponsor Messageā€ in a box above it, but it still seems inappropriate, as it resembles actual TPM content. And this is the first time I have seen an ad formatted like that.

Rand has joined a long list of Republican presidential wannabes who feel that members of the news media should act as though they are working for the candidates’ public relations departments, only asking them the questions that they WANT to be asked.

I think Rand is using ā€œeditorializeā€ more in the sense of an ā€œEditorial,ā€ which is basically a piece in the Opinion section of a newspaper that express’s the views or opinions of the newspapers Editorial staff. So basically he is accusing the reporters he jumped at of injecting their own opinions into the questions they asked.

The adjective POMP-ASS is accurate to describe this self-aggrandizing huckster.

ā€œā€œI think I’ve been universally short tempered and testy with both male and female reporters. I’ll own up to that,ā€ Paul said.ā€
That’s not gonna be a selling point Rand. The media can ruin your run, don’cha know?
