“My concern is that this doesn’t repeal Obamacare,” Paul told reporters,
He then continued, “but I’ll vote for it anyways…”
Rand is so thirsty for attention and is being overly dramatic here.
We really should know by now that he will be a yes vote despite his theatrics
Serious, snark-free question here: Is it actually possible to completely repeal the ACA via reconciliation? I’m not sure it is, which means repeal isn’t an actual objective here.
That being the case, why is he complaining? He’s in the Senate, and he’s free to write and submit a full repeal bill if he likes.
I must be missing something.
Please Sen. Paul, enlighten us on your policies that would reduce premiums.
Exactly. But that would mean more work and less grandstanding for the cameras.
Rand, “maverick” that he is, usually finds his way to the Republican position but from an obtuse angle.
Good! Can we count on your “No” vote, Senator Shithead?
Who cares?
The shit-heal with a Brillo™ pad on his head will vote for it. Just like Collins, Murkowski, and all the other “troubled” Republican Senators who will also cave (from the other end of the GOP caucus). They always do.
No. Not full repeal. And the Democrats can actually kill any reconciliation attempt if they simply go with a tsunami of amendments, which the reconciliation process allows an unlimited of. If the Democrats can simply have a stack of 40k amendments, they can simply run out the clock on this Congress.
Wow, so Rand Paul is okay with cutting billions of dollars from Medicare and Medicaid which never ends to subsidize tax cuts to his rich billionaire donors, but subsidizing Americans to be able to afford to buy insurance is just too much for him. He is truly a very horrid, horrid monster.
I’d like to see some amendments that provide actual health care. That’s a nice feature to have in a health care bill.
Couldn’t the Democrats just submit the original ACA and/or Single Payer over and over again as amendments? That’d be funny IMHO.
The amendments don;t even have to be germane. But even if each amendment only burns up 10 mins. to bring up, vote, and kill… if you have 40k of them, there are literally not enough hours in the days left in this Congress to pass it.
Oh, that’s easy: no Medicaid, Medicare, SCHIP, VA, etc. No insurance or medical regulations of any kind. Result: lower premiums. That there will also be hundreds of thousands more deaths is just a side effect.
